Sunwing won't refund trip -- Good!!

Post by soupy »

https://www.ctvnews.ca/canada/surprise- ... -1.4230205

So let me get this straight.
The couple didn't purchase travel insurance and now want a refund because they are willingly not going on this vacation due to a "surprise" pregnancy.

Unless this was immaculate conception I would like them to explain how this is a "surprise".

I would be embarrassed to take this to the media.
This couple could have purchased travel insurance, or could have been a little more pro-active practicing safe sex.

One of the rare times i side with an airline, but i hope they stand by their guns here.

May be able to get a credit and use in the future. I agree with you, no insurance no refund.

I can't imagine anyone NOT buying travel insurance for a $6k vacation. No sympathy here.

Just part of the "I'm special" people. The ones that got participation medals and believe they are owed something for nothing.
A lot of them out there.

I think unplanned instead of surprise! They shouldn't get a refund but someone will start a GFM page.
That's an expensive vacay!

You would think that fellow would know some other woman that would like to go on a free vacation.

As mentioned earlier someone will setup a GFM page, these travelers will not learn from there mistake of not getting travel insurance.
I don't give a damn whether people/posters like me or dislike me, I'm not on earth to win any popularity contests.

I wonder what they are spending 6 grand on.

You can get all inclusives for a week in Cuba for about $3500 all in flight/hotel for 2 adults and 1 kid.

Maybe they realized, after buying all their Christmas presents, that they really can't afford this vaca and are now looking for a way to bail. Give them a credit, which the airline will probably do to avoid bad press, but not a refund.

"Would you like to purchase travel insurance?"

"No."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes."

"Oh no! We decided not to go due to unforeseen circumstances. Why won't the airline give us our money back?"

"Because you didn't buy travel insurance."

"Why should we have to buy travel insurance?"

"Umm, just incase you have to cancel your trip to unforeseen circumstances?"

"But thats not fair!"

One kid already and another on the way, too late, they've already pro-created. :135:

Well they could always "cancel" the pregnancy instead and still go. :200:
