Canada's debt level is unsustainable

Post by Glacier »

We have never seen the debt rise so far so quickly, and the government's solution is to spend even more money. Our children and grandchildren will be paying for this, and the lion's share of the new taxes will fall on the middle class, as it always does. The rich will continue to find loopholes and the poor don't pay taxes, so the middle class will either have to join the rich class or risk being taxed into poverty.

Anyone who votes Trudeau in again is complicit in crippling the next generation.

^^^^

Then I hear " but as a percentage of Canada's GDP, Canada is in fine shape" load of BS

To me it sounds like neophyte self employed saying "but you can write it off" not understanding you have to have the money for it in the first place..

I am fortunate being retired and one of the two sons is doing well in his trade.

What scares me is there are some bleeding heart commies thinking taxing the gains in a personal residence at the time of sale should be looked at. I would post something in " what are your most controversial views" but could get arrested. :200:

Was this group successful at sucking any money out of the taxpayers?

Foundation for Black Communities seeks $200 million from federal budget to support Black-led charities

This is a charity. Right?
So they go hat in hand to the feds looking to fund their charity.
Isn't that what the public is for? Voluntary donations?

No wonder this country's finances are spiraling out of control with socialist minded people like this.
I'm posting this from Traditional lands of the British Empire & the current Lands of The Dominion of Canada.
I also give thanks for this ethos richness bestowed on us via British Colonialism.

The only way that the money can be disbursed though is if a fee of 10% is paid to the Burger boys to administer it...

The hard fact is, Canada is finished. There is no way our economy, financial situation can be corrected. At least not in this social environment. People are living a social society dream sold to them via our media vehicles, and constructed by the emotionally desperate needy.
There is no new amazing economy waiting for us that will save us. We cannot compete with other countries within our level of tax, cost's, rules, governance, social demands, environmental demands. Its great you think we can.
So as we sink further, especially at the hands of JT, their is one thing that is truly amazing.
There is still a very large amount of supporters, followers, believers thinking we still have a chance this way and under this leadership.

The government is planning to spend 100s of billions more without raising taxes. They are going to try this by kicking the can down the road 30 or 50 years with government of Canada bonds. When these bonds come due, then that generation will have to pay for it, which won't be a problem if interest rates stay at historic lows. If they go up, then who cares, they're just our grandchildren, so screw 'em.
