And we were sitting on the 'edge' because we've got an indoor-outdoor memorial and interment planned in Western Alberta this weekend for a close family member as number three of three that's been part of a back-up for these types of things.Septuagenarian wrote: ↑Sep 15th, 2021, 2:51 pm Today, Notley pretty much confirmed what I said here earlier.
Notley says Alberta is 'slipping off the edge of a great cliff'

NDP Leader Rachel Notley continued to press for Kenney to appear in public and answer questions about the fourth wave of the pandemic.

“We were wrong:" Alberta Premier announces new restrictions as COVID-19 slams hospitals | FULL
Global News
Alberta Premier Jason Kenney apologized on Wednesday for moving the province from a COVID-19 pandemic to an endemic situation in July saying “we were wrong.”
Kenney made the apology during a COVID-19 update where he announced that the hospitality industry in Alberta will need to require proof of vaccination.
He said he was bringing in the added restrictions “reluctantly.”
Kenney has repeatedly said he would not bring in a so-called vaccine passport program but the announcement indicated a willingness to at least partially embrace the idea.
Kenney also announced Wednesday that a state of public health emergency has been declared in Alberta. It marks the second time such a declaration has been made since the pandemic hit the province a year and a half ago. The move is expected to allow the government to swiftly co-ordinate and implement a response to the crisis in order to protect public health.
The announcement came as Alberta’s government has faced mounting pressure to take action in response to skyrocketing COVID-19 cases, hospitalizations and deaths, a situation that many health experts say is spiralling out of control.
Kenney was joined at Wednesday’s news conference by chief medical officer of health Dr. Deena Hinshaw, Health Minister Tyler Shandro and Alberta Health Services president Dr. Verna Yiu.
So a few limitations to deal with this weekend, but otherwise we are good to go on all fronts.

Hmmmm....doesn't sound like Kenny is all that apologetic but then that's the conservatives for you....doubling down on a BAD decision.
Calgary to take own measures to act on COVID-19 crisis, saying province 'doesn't care'
It's too bad for Alberta, the UCP are in charge, Albertans deserve better .....I'm sure Rachel Notley would have handled the Covid situation a heck of a lot better than the Conservative government that will I'm sure will get the boot come the next election.
Calgary to take own measures to act on COVID-19 crisis, saying province 'doesn't care'
https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/calgary/ ... -1.6177726Alberta less than 10 days away from running out of ICU beds, premier said Wednesday......
As well, doctors were being told to prepare to make life-or-death decisions as to which patients will be able to access interventions like ventilators.
"Regardless of the politics and the ideology and the endless lurching back and forth like a Stampede ride that we're hearing from the province, your city government is here for you … and we'll continue to do what it takes to get us out of this," Nenshi said, following city council's last meeting of the session late Wednesday evening........
But beyond apologizing for prematurely treating the pandemic as endemic, the premier largely stood by decisions his government made in July to drop public health measures for the summer and not reintroduce them until after cases, hospitalizations and deaths were snowballing.
"I'm having a hard time articulating … what I just heard from a dumpster fire of a press conference," Coun. Druh Farrell said when Calgary city council's meeting resumed after the provincial announcement. "I'm tired of asking for permission from a province that truly doesn't care."
One action the mayor suggested was for the city to partner with local pharmacies to bring mobile vaccination buses to locations like train stations to lower barriers to access. He added that Alberta Health leadership previously mocked him for suggesting a pop-up vaccine clinic be set up during the Calgary Stampede in July.
"It's clear that Alberta Health and Alberta Health Services have abandoned targeted vaccination efforts except for one bus in all of Alberta," Nenshi said in a scrum following the meeting.

Patients are having to be shipped all over the place now--some by air.
Vaxxed and unvaxxed are mad at Kenney now.
Meaning, on the vaxxed side there are a lot of Albertans who agree with Trudeau's sentiments here.
So I sure hope Kenney will accept his offers to help.

Re: Alberta
Bad news for Kenny. Albertans are finally accepting the facts that Canadians already knew. Kenny is an imbecile that murdered people with his July 1st release of the hounds. And now boomers were bumped from the front of the line for surgeries by covid cases. I wonder if the boomer demographic in Alberta regrets their decision to vote for him in droves?

Ha!

The best part about the 'twitter files' is where Tucker Carlson asks Hunter Biden to help his kid get into college.
Some right wingers definitely have a secret folder full of naked Hunter Biden photos.

I was listening to the radio on the drive into town and it sounded like the question about Kenney leaving office is not one of "if", but one of "when".
A great many people think they are thinking when they are merely rearranging their prejudices.

Albertans have come down from the euphoria of Harper style conservatism in Alberta. Now Albertans know what the rest of Canada knew about Kenny. That he is a clown.
