Have a heart. The dregs that would be left behind in the other provinces would seal their doom.

Hopefully Harper is getting primed to step into a federal government position next year to help clean up the mess made by Trudeau. AIMCo should be a warm-up.BC Landlord wrote: ↑Nov 20th, 2024, 3:14 pm Steven Harper appointed as AIMCo board chair. And for zero salary.![]()

Re: Alberta
yup maybe Stephen Harper can team up with Kevin O'Leary to form our own Canadian version of "DOGE" and start cutting and snipping some of the tens of thousands of civil servants Justin and crew have added to the federal level since 2015. Then they can reinstate the Indigenous Accountability Act and really start cutting some waste!Babba_not_Gump wrote: ↑Nov 20th, 2024, 3:41 pmHopefully Harper is getting primed to step into a federal government position next year to help clean up the mess made by Trudeau. We need to stop continuously saying that Canada is moving toward fascism and just admit that under the Carney Liberals we are already there.

That should be good practise for running the vastly larger portfolio that would result from a repatriation of Albertans’ CPP investments.BC Landlord wrote: ↑Nov 20th, 2024, 3:14 pm Steven Harper appointed as AIMCo board chair. And for zero salary.![]()

It's too bad she's not willing to follow Premier Ford's lead and is too weak to put the screws to Trump by stopping the flow of oil and gas in response to his tariffs. The Green Barbarian wrote: ↑Dec 13th, 2024, 12:42 pm https://www.msn.com/en-CA/news/canada/a ... reappshare
Good job Danielle!!!![]()
At the very least, it's too bad she showed her hand already. Whether she was willing to or not, it's an extremely weak move to take that chip off the table so soon.

How do you feel about the tariffs in place by Biden and Harris's government that are affecting our mineral exports south of the border? Should we stop exporting our timber as well as our minerals in order for us to learn a lesson?Jonrox wrote: ↑Dec 13th, 2024, 1:10 pmIt's too bad she's not willing to follow Premier Ford's lead and is too weak to put the screws to Trump by stopping the flow of oil and gas in response to his tariffs. The Green Barbarian wrote: ↑Dec 13th, 2024, 12:42 pm https://www.msn.com/en-CA/news/canada/a ... reappshare

They're in place for strategic reasons and seem to be working just fine. Targeted tariffs to protect certain domestic industries can be a very effective tool.liisgo wrote: ↑Dec 13th, 2024, 1:45 pmHow do you feel about the tariffs in place by Biden and Harris's government that are affecting our mineral exports south of the border? It's too bad Trump doesn't understand this and is coming after the entire country. Him taking such drastic action now requires a drastic response.
Cutting off the power to 1.5 million US homes in the middle of winter is a strong first move.

Coming out a publicly stating how tough you're going to be if tariffs are put on Canada is not how negotiations are done.
Negotiations have not really started yet but when they do we need INTELLIGENT people working for Canada

I've been told constantly on these boards that Trump is using the tariffs as a negotiating tool. That being the case, the negotiations are well underway. Please keep up.Babba_not_Gump wrote: ↑Dec 13th, 2024, 2:52 pmIt seems you're the one who doesn't understand much of this.Jonrox wrote: ↑Dec 13th, 2024, 1:48 pm

The unreasonable ask is a pretty standard opening move. It seems both sides are strong believers in it.
I wouldn't have handled the negotiation the way Trump, Ford, or Smith have so far, but it's negotiating nonetheless.
