2030, Michelle? Really? What a stupid thing to say.
Given how stupid the Liberals were in November, this was actually an incredibly intelligent thing to say. Good job Michelle! We as Canadians are so lucky to have her and Pierre in government, holding the evil and awful Liberals to account. Keep up the great work CPC!

The movers and shakers in the Conservative party are elitists who don't want the masses to have access to services because that threatens their wealth. So they preach this free-enterprise survival of the fittest social Dawinism to convince themselves. Sadly, some of the middle and even the lower classes fall for the nonsense, even though it hurts them.

Mar 8/20: Pierre Poilievre
is asked if he supports special measures in the March budget to help Canadians deal with COVID19 Pierre responds "You might want to address it with 'big fat government programs', we're Conservatives so we don't believe in that".
Michelle and Pierre correctly observed that Canada is currently unable to produce vaccines when they are needed, and that there are better ways for Ottawa to respond to problems than with poorly conceived and executed government programs that invite abuse and tend to discourage participation in the work force. Nothing earth-shattering, just a recognition of the obvious. Of course it’s fair to say that it’s far too easy for the Cons to simply highlight the incompetence and dishonesty of the current government. We can only hope that soon, they will be in a position to show that they can do better.

Whatever the outcome of the next election, it would be nice if the Libs, Cons or Dippers would put Canada first for a change. A return to compulsory licensing of pharmaceuticals would be an important move to protect Canadians from predatory pricing by global pharma and from supply blackmail by China’s fascist government.

Im surprised they let Remple out from under her rock. She performed terribly on the news cycle as the Health critic for a bit a few months ago. She was way out of her league. And it showed. Her comments are why I am thankful to God that Conservatives didn't bring Canadians into a dustbowl recession. A recession which we were dying by the thousands like Americans under the trump administration.

Pierre is also a wild card. He is great at repeating himself saying "yes or no" a million times. I remember seeing him throw himself in the ring as leader of the Conservative party. And then he did an about face. My opinion why is that he was even more facetious online in the past than in the house. His online history had too many nuggets that Liberals could use against him. But hey...it was for his kids and wife......

I bet if we looked in the conservative heartlands that a majority of those supporters are basically on cerb welfare at the moment. So I guess they cant say they are paying for people who work and pay taxes anymore? Because they are living off other peoples money?

It looks like 2030 came early for the MP from Oklahoma.

Of course, her intent was to promote vaccine distrust and hesitancy in Canada, as many on the loony-right in the US are.

She wanted our vaccination effort to fail, and Canadians to die in order to score political points.

But as usual, she failed miserably. And she just keeps looking stupider.

The government's talks with Pfizer led to the correct decision to rely on the huge Michigan plant for our supply.

And so now we lead the world in vaccinations.

And her home state of Oklahoma sits at an embarrassing 39% as COVID cases soar.

Nice hair, though.

Oh you mean like this? Has there been any other changes to this as it's from last year.......
In response to the pandemic, Canadian lawmakers have passed a bill that would speed the process of issuing compulsory licenses for medical products, adding to a list of countries seeking to ensure access to medicines and devices, among other items.

A country may grant such a license to a public agency or a generic drug maker, allowing it to copy a patented medicine without the consent of the brand-name company that owns the patent. This right was memorialized in a section of a World Trade Organization agreement known as the Trade-Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights, or TRIPS.

Actually, Canadian law already permits the government to issue a compulsory license, but the bill would essentially speed the process by allowing the country to move much faster to secure a license in the event of a public health crisis. Rather than the undergoing the usual process of haggling with a company over terms, the government could simply issue a license and negotiate compensation later (see part 12).

They are thinking that they've saddled future generations with trillions of dollars of debt. So refreshing indeed!

Dig a little deeper. Bill C-13 merely allows the Minister of Health to grant a temporary compulsory license during the current situation. It does nothing to address the long term medical needs of Canadians. We need a strategy, not just a knee-jerk temporary measure that is unlikely to accomplish anything. Thanks for nothing, JT.

I think you mean the Private School Trust fund PM and his crew are elitists. O'toole is from nice hard working middle class family. He is far more educated than all the Liberal party and its followers combined.

Certainly very happy those that got covid weren't sent to isolated hospitals - how archaic.

Instead, we closed the economy down for the .006% of the population who were on their death bed already. The shutdown will cause us pain for decades to come.
Where are those isolated hospitals in B.C.?
How far away do they need to be from major populations?
How much staff do you need?
How do you transport the patients?
If they are only susceptible to the virus which includes anyone over the age of 65, cancer patients (all ages), anyone with underlying conditions (all ages) why do they need to be in isolated hospitals?
Build some camps nearby, maybe.
