Re: Canada accepting 20,000 Afghanistan's
I guess that's why Justin Trudeau admires the basic dictatorship of the Chinese Communist Party.
Trudeau and his MP's can't get their stories straight on this issue. Why did Garneau contradict Trudeau? Obviously, one of them is lying, and my bet is on Garneau being more truthful than Justin the Great Prevaricator. Trudeau's porkies flow freely, we all know that.

Exactly

Sufficiently advanced incompetence is indistinguishable from malice. There’s a certain point at which ignorance becomes malice, at which there is simply no way to become THAT ignorant except deliberately and maliciously.

Re: Canada accepting 20,000 Afghanistan's
I learned something from a active member of the Canadian Military. We don't get enough information from our media.. He was saying the Afghanistans that are being saved are actually allies to our military. I have attached what was stated. I think he is in the know and many of us jumped to conclusion without having any idea.
___________________________________________________________________________________________________
Folks. No matter what you are about to see over the next few days about our assistance in escorting Afghani refugees, our allies, when we were sent over in green uniforms to a desert…..These people who we are rescuing, are the people that assisted us knowing they put their lives, and their families lives, on the line in hopes of a future for their daughters. They assisted us when we were deployed there. They gave us safe haven when they could find it. They navigated us through the thick and the thin. I refer to us, because we are Canadian. We stand behind our troops, not just on Remembrance Day.
Our troops who served in Afghanistan, want to ensure their safe keepers are treated with the respect and desire for freedom we all take for granted.
To be clear, I never served in Afghanistan, but we all will look out for each other, no matter what creed, colour or religion, you have our backs, we should have yours.
Ignore the politics for a moment…. Let your conscious, be your guide…. (thanks Cricket

Justin Trudeau will let these people die because he's too busy at the moment. Their lives are inconvenient distractions for photo op boy.
What a complete sack of crap he is.

From the story,
“They were searching every house where I live,” said the interpreter who previously worked with the Canadian Armed Forces in Kandahar.
He said he submitted his application for resettlement in Canada last month and he and his wife visited the Canadian Embassy in Kabul on Aug. 5, before the Taliban took control of the Afghan capital.
He said he has not heard from the Canadian government since then.

No need for the strikethrough, you have it right the first time. Harper's government especially Kenny was disgraceful in their treatment of our allies in Afghanistan who risked their lives for the Canadian soldiers.bb49 wrote: ↑Aug 21st, 2021, 11:01 amAnd if those interpreters are not within the grounds of the Kabul airport, then they are *bleep*.Septuagenarian wrote: ↑Aug 21st, 2021, 7:06 am Gotta give hope not 'crap'.

Canada rejects majority of Afghan interpreters' refugee claims
https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/canada ... -1.1059850Our government recognizes the significant contributions made by these brave and courageous Afghans to our important mission," his press secretary Candice Malcolm said in an email.
But Toronto immigration lawyer Michael Niren said the special measures program is a "disgrace and an embarrassment to Canada."
"Not only are legitimate Afghan refugee claims being denied, here we have a program that lures desperate Afghans into service and sacrifice for Canada and then 'thanks' them by refusing their claims for protection," Niren told CBC News in an email. "This brings our immigration and refugee program to an all time low."
Around 550 Afghan nationals are expected to settle in Canada as a result, including translators, as well as their spouses and children.
Wanna know how disgraceful and callous Kenny and the supremely arrogant Harper was to our allies in Afghanistan?
It's a disgusting display of thick-skinned insensitivity.........
https://www.thestar.com/news/world/2011 ... reter.htmlBesides, Kenney says, Sharifi and other interpreters were paid for their services — as if that absolves Canadians of whatever might happen after we leave them to fend for themselves against the common enemy that our government’s strategy failed to defeat.
“The program is not designed to allow every Afghan who helped the Canadian armed forces to move here,” Kenney says. “The Afghans who helped Canadian troops were paid for their service and had no further expectations when they signed on to work with the military campaign to win their freedom and secure their country.
“The program I established was designed to help those who face specific, individualized threats to their lives as a direct result of having worked with Canadian troops as translators.”
Kenney’s letter doesn’t elaborate on these Canadian officials’ qualifications to judge the dangers facing Afghans like Sharifi, considered traitors and collaborators because they worked with foreigners.
JT on the otherhand was elected one year after every Canadians were pulled out of Afghanistan yet has compassionately allowed 20,000 deserving Afghanistan refugee allies into Canada. It's good thing someone like JT is trying to repay our debt to our allies in time of need instead of callously ignoring their plea like the Harper government did.

Care to break down those numbers by year?
And these 20,000 deserving Afghanistan refugee allies into Canada, are they part of the above 23,000?
Or are they another of Justin's promises?

This is what the Harper government brought in
https://nationalpost.com/opinion/rupa-s ... ast-enough
Trudeau and the Liberal campaign frequently invoke former Conservative Prime Minister Stephen Harper as a bogey man. But an honest evaluation of the Harper government’s strengths and weaknesses must include the fact that Harper initiated the first program to relocate Afghan staff including interpreters, who assisted Canadian forces in Kandahar as long ago as 2009. Under this program, initiated by then immigration minister Jason Kenney, about 800 people were brought to Canada before the program expired in 2011.

Let's get some context here........there were approx 11,000 Afghani refugees from Afghanistan that arrived right after Canada went to war in Afghanistan. So in 20 years since, we've brought in on average 600 Afghanis per year to Canada.
When Haper finally got us out of that country, he brought over a paltry 800 Afghanis, just 200 peeps more than the average immigration from there per year. That is a pathetic low number for allies that risked their lives to aid Canada's role in the war.
I have no doubt that JT and the Libs will get the 20,000 Afghanis out like he did the Syrians.......but of course that is also dependent on how many will be able to reach the airport as the Taliban has all but closed off the access to the airport. It's too bad Harper only brought over a pitiful 800 Afghanis in 2014 or else there would have no need for JT who was elected after Canada got out of Afghanistan to bring over 20 times more peeps than Harper's callous government.
https://www.cicnews.com/2021/08/canada- ... #gs.8xojzdWe have also done it before. Operation Syria showed us that even the most aggressive of deadlines can be achieved so long as a goal has the full weight of the government behind it. Canada successfully resettled 25,000 Syrians in just 100 days between November 2015 and February 2016. The three levels of government, in conjunction with Canadians from all walks of life worked day and night, seven days a week, including through the winter holidays to achieve this goal. Canada can use this know-how to fulfil its Afghan target within an aggressive timeline.
Way to go JT!!!

Sad sad story from Toronto Sun an hour ago.
Canadians are not being let thru to the Kabul airport.
They have been told to wear red and try and get to a North gate.
Then if they do get thru we are only loading people on that corresponds to the number of seatbelts on board.
seatbelts the US put over 640 on their C17
Our gets cut off at 180

Don't hold your breath, it ain't gonna to happen.
Let's see why. Last Thursday our first flight had 175 Afghan nationals on it.
The next day, our second flight had 106 Afghan nationals on it.
20,000-175-106=19,719 Afghans left to fulfill Justin's latest promise.
Sorry, but it ain't gonna happen.
Ahh, don't you recall, it was waaaay back in April that Biden announced he was pulling US troops out of Afghanistan.....but of course that is also dependent on how many will be able to reach the airport as the Taliban has all but closed off the access to the airport.
Canada has had plenty of time.
Harper, Harper, Harper. It's all about Harper. Do you want to throw Trump in there too?
