So HG has confirmed that local Liberal membership had no say in Tiny Tim's acclamation and parachuted into the riding.

The local Liberal EDA, packed with Trudeau fart-catchers, would NEVER tell Justin they don't want his boy.

Once again, we see an oligarchy of Ottawa elitists dictating candidacy out here in the west. There's no fair process for local Liberal members to have a say in whom they must work for.

That is likely why so many are changing their alliances and looking to other, more fair and inclusive and democratic parties, like the Conservatives.

The Liberal plans are on target balanced budgets in 4-5 years, subject to teh end of the pandemic (we do not know if the 4th wave is the last or if there will be new ones caused by new variants).
Not true. In fact, it's a gigantic porky.
The Liberal budget in April unveiled major spending on social programs and vowed a return to small deficits by 2025.

We all remember Justin's 2015 promise to run "small deficits" and his "guaranteed" balanced budget by 2019. Well, all of us old enough to remember 2015 (sorry Tiny Tim).

Timmy and his boss have no concept of what a balanced budget is, or what it takes to budget a lemonade stand. Fortunately, Tiny Tim and his sexual-predator-coddling boss won't be making those decisions for us after September 20th.

Once again: read this https://www.theglobeandmail.com/opinion ... s-looking/

"The Conservative promise to balance the budget “over the next decade” is a masterpiece of meaninglessness: the latest projections from the Parliamentary Budget Office show the budget will be all but balanced – a deficit of less than 1 per cent of GDP – inside of four years. It would require heroic acts of profligacy to prevent it from balancing in 10."

If it isn't too many words, it is easy to see that Liberal plans do indeed competently address the budget deficit.

I get that the CPC party line is to continue to spread copious amounts of absolute nonsense, but the PBO (Parliamentary Budget Office) has concluded that the Liberal plans do indeed bring the budget deficit under control in roughly 4 years. Andrew Coyne sees no problem with that analysis by the PBO, and he holds a masters in economics and was raised by a former governor of the Bank of Canada.

The entire CPC attack line on spending and deficits is just pure unadulterated and shameless rubbish.

Tim Krupa will add considerable talent, education as the MP for Kelowna/Lake Country and expertise in policy formation such that true fiscal prudence without "slash and burn" CPC style cuts is achieved.
The middle path - everything in moderation, and everything in its time and order.

What is EDA, please? Never mind - Electoral District Association.

What you are posting here suggests to me that the local riding association nominated Tim Krupa and did not accept other nominations. Is this all correct?

It's rather silly to complain when people ask a simple question about who chose Tim Krupa - whether the local riding association had input or Tim Krupa was chosen for them.

Why all the defensiveness?

More defensiveness. Many of us have "deep roots" and family where we were raised. We all understand it's not the same thing as still living in the area.

It seems to me the Liberals should have been able to find a candidate who does live in the riding.

People have every right to question WHY someone who has chosen to live in Toronto has been selected to represent the people who live in Kelowna Lake Country, instead of someone who actually lives in the riding.
rustled - you mean like one who was not born and raised in Alberta? You will never see me criticize any candidate on that basis.
I've no idea what you're getting at, here. No one asked you to criticize anyone for where they were born and raised - and where Krupa was born and raised is not the point, the point is where he lives now and how he came to represent a riding he doesn't live in, rather than someone who does live in the riding.

It seems to me you're defensively deflecting from the questions - how was Tim Krupa selected to run in this riding? Who decided? Was there no one who actually lives in the Kelowna Lake Country riding who wanted to represent the Liberals?

If you don't actually know, that's fine. Maybe someone else knows.

Yes, I will indeed criticize such a candidate for voting to attack LGBTQ rights, attack seniors rights, attack women's rights and obstruct efforts to deal with human caused climate change.
But you are "attacking" her for stuff that never actually happened. And it just makes you look silly. And horribly desperate.
The contrast with Tim Krupa and his inclusive worldview
Well, he is from Toronto, the center of the universe...
plus relevant and superior education and experience is clear.
It's clear that he should have known better than to hop in bed with such horrible scum. All of that "relevant and superior education and experience" still led him to make an insanely dumb decision, and that's on Timmy.
Tim is far and away the most qualified to inclusively serve ALL of Kelowna/Lake Country.
So hopefully he finds a riding and party that isn't named "Liberal" that will have him. Because right now he's riding behind the manure wagon that is the Liberal party in this country.

Yup - thanks HG for affirming what we already knew - it was by acclimation and the order came in from on high from Dumb-Dumb himself. It's too bad the people of Kelowna aren't being offered someone local to vote for, but instead someone who is just visiting, and will high-tail it back to Toronto after the Liberals are thoroughly trounced and disgraced on September 20th.
