Yes, Conservatives plans to tax primary residences is definitely instanity. Why do Canadians still support the CPC given its desire to financially ruin Canadians with these disgusting and regressive taxes?
It's that special time of year when conservatives stupidly act like they're not allowed to say Merry Christmas.

You guys realize that how much you're taxed is related to how much money the government spends, right? No one in Canadian history spends like a Trudeau, so just some simple math that even you could understand tells us all we need to know.

Actually, prior to the pandemic, most of Canada's debt was run up by just two prime ministers -- Mulroney and Harper. $610 billion worth.

There is no home tax in the cards for the Liberals. Can't say the same about the Reform/Alliance Cons. Of course, their chance of forming a government to implement the tax is next to nil.

Trudeau's debt towers above Harper's for what it's worth, but I wasn't talking about debt.

That's likely true, but in fairness to Trudeau he has had to respond to COVID, and at some point all the bills that have accrued (First Nations issues, infrastructure, etc.) as a result of previous governments neglect have come due.

Oh give it a rest he was well on his way to maxing out the credit cards before covid, the questionable pandemic just provided the perfect scapegoat for his wreckless spending.

Actually, Trudeau's debt didn't tower above Harper's and Mulroney's before the pandemic hit.

But I know we have to keep pretending Conservatives balance budgets and are good stewards of the public purse.

Even if it isn't remotely true.

It was well on it's way to towering over everyone's debt, and this during a time of growth in the economy, unlike when Harper had to steer Canada through a very large recession. The drunken sailor spending of the Liberal children before the Pandemic was disgusting and downright evil, as it was saddling future generations with giant debts, all thanks to basically nothing but general stupidity. What horrible stewards of our economy the Liberals are. Just so awful. Higher taxes and nothing to show for it is all we're going to get, including a tax on sale of permanent residences.
