That's true, and if Erin keeps doing such a fantastic job we could have our first NDP government in Ottawa.

We can only go up from here.

And I doubt Jagmeet is stupid enough to tax people out of their homes.

Absolutely, the only one stupid enough to that would be O'Toole the fool.

This is because humans have a tendency to allow preconceived notions to influence the way their research is conducted. We have a natural bias toward that which confirms our previously held beliefs.

So, with that in mind, the following should be of concern
Blacklocks reported that the research is being conducted at the University of British Columbia’s school of population. The same school that produced a report last year calling homeowners “lottery winners” and that their principal residences are “tax shelters.”
Having folks with that kind of attitude conduct research into ways to make homes more affordable, does tend to lend weight to the belief that a recommendation for a “home equity tax” will be the likely outcome.

And it stinks!
^^ absolutely correct. This UBC prof, who... by the way... has a job supported by government tax-dollar purse strings... decides that rather than acknowledge or solve the problems created by the government in the first place with REAL solutions - he'll just do the one thing that will make himself feel popular and liked by anyone younger than him: "I suggest we tax the top 10%". Uninformed meatball offering pediatric therapy to an adult problem.

Very few people living in inflated homes actually like the situation they are in. The inflation was created by government policy - they pay MUCH higher tax every single year already and with no life-return. They LIVE in the house - it's not some bank-machine that makes them money as 'meatball' seems to think. Living in a house that appreciates does NOT make you rich, it does not buy you better meals, better cars, private jets... it makes you poor.

So what does UBC meatball suggest?... rather than get to the root of the problem (policy, education and lack of innovation and good jobs) - the cause, which is harder to address - he goes to the old government-employee handbook of options thinking he is robin-hood. And our research dollars pay this guy to come up with these 'innovative' solutions... amazing disgrace.

The bottom line is that regardless of how much your house increases in value, you’re probably going to need all that and more to buy another one. Because all the other houses have increased in value as well. Plus you also have to pay additional costs such as real estate and legal fees, the property transfer tax, and so on. So, after the move, you may actually have even less in the bank than you had before.

It's sad how worked up people get over a tax that doesn't exist and never will exist, simply because of irresponsible and baseless statements made by loopy Leslyn Lewis designed to raise funds.

The Liberals would never introduce such a tax as it would obviously be unpopular with Canada's ten million homeowners, and, frankly, political suicide.

The Conservatives like to be on the wrong side of issues, and hurt the middle class, not the Liberals.
