As someone who is a center conservative, it is headlines like this that absolutely drive me crazy! This is fodder for the liberals to use to get voters on the fence to vote liberal over conservative. GB, do the liberals pay you to spread this crap??

I don't work for a newspaper, so no.
Good to see that you care so much about this Norma, as all Canadians, of all political stripes, should be concerned about this. It's our democracy, that the Liberals just callously discarded in a desperate grab for power.

https://nationalpost.com/opinion/terry- ... bout-chinaTerry Glavin: Why Trudeau Liberals don't want to talk about China
The Liberals don’t want the federal election complicated by anyone talking out loud about foreign policy — especially Xi's regime
Of the many obstacles that have been strategically placed in the path of the voting public’s comprehension of where the parties situate themselves in the federal election campaign that’s just now heading into its final lap around the track, there’s nothing quite so peculiar as the cordon sanitaire Justin Trudeau’s Liberals have been allowed to construct around any serious discussion of foreign policy.
The Liberals are similarly counting on voters not to notice that what distinguishes their foreign policy is the thing that has caused the Chinese government and its network of diplomats and well-connected friends in Canada to be rather too obvious in their enthusiasm for a Liberal re-election. So enthusiastic, in fact, that they’re already coming close to violating Canadian laws intended to safeguard federal elections from foreign interference.
It began on Aug. 25, when Chinese Ambassador Cong Peiwu, without explicitly naming him, insinuated that Erin O’Toole was placing his party’s “political interests” ahead of fruitful Canada-China relations. After an obligatory throat-clearing to the effect that it was not his intent to comment on or interfere in the election, Cong said China would oppose anyone “hyping up issues related to China or smearing China.”

Only two months ago, the federal Communications Security Establishment warned: “We judge it very likely that Canadian voters will encounter some form of foreign cyber interference ahead of, and during, the next federal election.” Similar warnings have been repeated by the Canadian Security Intelligence Service and the National Security and Intelligence Committee of Parliamentarians. Canada’s intelligence agencies have also consistently warned that China’s overseas belligerence — its spying, sabotage and influence operations — constitute one of the gravest threats to Canada’s national security.

Oh well, some missed hearing the alarm bells before JTs inappropriate election call, and now we are here, with China holding Canada in a chokehold.

Sad, sad country that Canada has become.
