Why haven't the corporations been taxed more in the past 8 years?

You guys voted for it, what happened?

Sure be nice when we get a Conservative government that will know how to balance social responsibility with corporate taxation levels.

LOL - yes just when you think the Liberals couldn't get any worse, their sychophants come on here to tell us they haven't gone far enough in following through on the dumbest policies possible. So grateful for Pierre and the Conservatives - keep up the great work Pierre!!

Former prime minister Stephen Harper says Canada needs a ‘Conservative Renaissance’
CTV News, March 22, 2023

Bill, the woke ideology of the Trudeau Liberals has been a disaster.

Inflation fueled by reckless money printing is slashing paycheques, the dream of homeownership is vanishing, and divisive
political games are being deployed to gain power and concentrate it in the government’s hands.

But the Liberals will tell you to never raise a concern about it.

Rather than face up to their failures and look for solutions, the woke Liberals suppress, cancel, and silence, all opposing views.

With mounting pushback, they are even forcing a censorship bill through the House of Commons.

Canada needs a Conservative Renaissance.

Pierre Poilievre and our Conservative team are fighting day in and day out to restore the promise of our great country.

We will bring home powerful paycheques.

We will bring home lower taxes.

We will bring home a much-needed Conservative Renaissance.

Help us make it happen.

By capping government spending, removing the gatekeepers, and eliminating unnecessary taxes and overregulation, we will give Canadians back control of their lives.

By killing the Liberals’ censorship bill and putting the Canadian people back in charge of their government, we will restore the freedom that each and every Canadian is promised.

And that Conservative Renaissance is near.

Our movement is and always has been fueled by our grassroots community.

It is powered by you, Mr. Rice.

Standing for freedom and opportunity, standing for what you believe is right, and opposing what you believe is wrong, forms the foundation of our party.

So, our promise to you is this.

We will continue to hold the woke, divisive, corrupt Liberals to account.

We will get our message of hope and freedom out to Canadians and around the media filter.

And with our grassroots movement making its voice heard, we will bring home a Conservative Renaissance.

The future of our country depends on it.

Sincerely yours,

Canada’s Conservatives

While we are agreed that the Liberals have not done enough to raise corporate taxation, they have done some, around capital gains, and around dividend tax credits etc.
The primary emphasis in context is efforts to attack the tax diversion schemes (like Apple reporting profits in Ireland) and to put an end to the "race to the bottom" on corporate taxes internationally. The Liberals have been spearheading the formation of an international agreement to provide a floor on corporate taxes and prevent tax diversion. That international agreement of corporate taxation is a necessary precursor in order to prevent Canada left out of the picture for foreign capital investment flows. IF Canada raises corporate taxation to proper levels and other countries do not, then Canada will suffer a dearth of foreign capital investment. It is unsurprising that countries like Ireland are working very hard to kill the efforts by Trudeau, Biden, Blinken, Joly et al to secure such an agreement. https://www.reuters.com/business/financ ... 021-10-08/

Contrast that with what the "Conservatives" (whom I do not personally see as conservative) have and are doing:

The past CPC government cut corporate tax rates by 27.3%.
The CPC opposition have vociferously opposed the effort to secure an international agreement on a corporate tax rate floor and corporate profit diversion schemes.
"Conservative" provincial governments like the UCP cut corporate taxes. https://www.taxpayer.com/newsroom/kenne ... gJqkvD_BwE

"Kenney’s corporate welfare puts Albertans at risk for billions of dollars
Author: Franco Terrazzano 2021/02/24"

So YES, we know exactly what Pierre and the PPC have in mind when Pierre says he will "cut taxes". Pierre and the CPC will reinvigorate "the race to the bottom" on corporate taxes and profit diversion - and stick it to ordinary folks.
The middle path - everything in moderation, and everything in its time and order.

You know nothing. You're busy defending Trudeau's drastic tax increases on the middle and lower income Canadians, but try to throw a boogey man at Mr Poilievre's plan to rescind Trudeau's egregious tax hikes on working class Canadians.

Your narrative is pure BS, and judging by Trudeau's fall in popularity while Mr Poilievre soars upward, Canadians aren't buying the crap you're trying to scam them with.

Lol. You spin false narratives as usual trying to defend the indefensible CPC and Pierre "the puppet".

https://data.oecd.org/tax/tax-wedge.htm

Yup, the "tax wedge", how much an ordinary person pays, went DOWN after Trudeau and the Liberals got elected.

Of COURSE I know what Pierre "the puppet" plans to do for "tax cuts". Pierre will do EXACTLY what the puppet master Harper tells him to do, and that means more and higher fee-fees (like national parks entry fees), corporate tax cuts, and boutique tax credits for the wealthy.

That's what the CPC has always done, that's what Harper did and wants, and that's what the puppet Pierre will do.

Justin the corrupt pile of turds is by far the worst pm (lower case intentionally) in the history of Canada.

Mr Harper is correct there is a need for a conservative revival in Canadian politics. However that revivalmust not continue to embrace far right fractional politics, but embrace small C conservative values. These include far share taxation, progressive environmental and sustainable energy policies, improved housing initiatives, and improvements to the health system. If the CPC move in those directions they will easily win a majority in the next election. However, if they do not then we are doomed to another minority government most likely lead by those who currently form the government. The choice is simple, offer a real conservative alternative or languish in diminishing obscurity.
We won’t fight homelessness, hunger, or poverty, but we can fight climate change. The juxtaposition of the now and the future, food for thought.
