https://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/other/sa ... b14fb&ei=8Sabrina Maddeaux: Trudeau's 'don't outshine me' style true threat to Liberals
When it comes to getting elected, recognition is key. It’s part of the advantage enjoyed by incumbents, was largely responsible for Olivia Chow’s recent Toronto mayoral win and was likely part of what held back former federal Conservative leader Erin O’Toole, who was unable to campaign traditionally throughout the pandemic, from victory in 2021.
It’s also an asset undeniably enjoyed by Trudeau, whose last name guaranteed near-ubiquitous recognition before he even began his quest to lead the Liberals back in 2012. Since then, he’s become both famous and infamous in his own right.
While one of Trudeau’s innate strengths as a politician is the ability to channel that star power, his insecure governance style relies heavily on extinguishing others’ bright lights before they have a chance to shine on their own. It’s not enough for Trudeau to be the marquee name on the programme; everyone else must be relegated to fine print on the last page.
Now that there’s swirling doubt about Trudeau’s future as Liberal leader, his recognition-hoarding could have both near- and longer-term consequences for his party, who’ve complacently allowed him to become a black hole at the centre of their organization.
One of the biggest problems the Liberals face is their party’s lack of a natural successor, or even a rising star that looks capable of winning an underdog fight. Big name after big name has either left or been kicked out of Trudeau’s cabinet, and the ones who remain are not necessarily the best or brightest, but the ones most adept at playing by their leader’s don’t-outshine-me rule.
A new Pollara poll shows a surprising lack of name recognition when it comes to federal cabinet ministers. Eight years into this government, 60 per cent of Canadians can’t name a single federal cabinet minister. According to Pollara, 15 per cent of Canadians can name one cabinet minister, 11 per cent could name two, and just 14 per cent could name three or more.
Chrystia Freeland was the most commonly named minister at 30 per cent, with Mélanie Joly coming in a distant second at 15 per cent.

A nationwide series of parental rights protests Wednesday prompted left-wing politicians to condemn the Million Person March as “hateful.”
The Million Person March was a demonstration organised largely by parents concerned with the expansion of gender ideology. Protesters advocated for a stronger foothold for parental rights both in what children learn and also what they do at school as it pertains to changing gender identity and pronouns.
However, prominent politicians supportive of the LGBTQ+ community attacked the nationwide protests as being “anti-trans” and “hateful.”
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau took to X (formerly Twitter) to condemn the protests, labelling them as a transphobic, homophobic, and biphobic manifestation of hate.
“Let me make one thing very clear: Transphobia, homophobia, and biphobia have no place in this country,” wrote Trudeau.
“We strongly condemn this hate and its manifestations, and we stand united in support of 2SLGBTQI+ Canadians across the country – you are valid and you are valued.”
In a press conference at City Hall, Toronto mayor Olivia Chow said that there is “no room for hate in Canada” and emphasised her commitment to advocating on behalf of the LGBTQ+ community.
“Toronto is a welcoming place for everyone, including our LGBTQ neighbours and young people,” said Chow, touting her raising of a transgender flag at City Hall. “I spent my career standing shoulder to shoulder with the LGBTQ community and I want to continue to stand with them today in the face of hate.”
NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh attended the counter-protest to Ottawa’s Million Person March, marching with a large pride progress flag and chanting pro-LGBTQ+ slogans.
In an X post, Singh warned of an alarming rise in hate against the LGBTQ+ community, representing a threat to safety and freedom.
The rise of hate towards the 2SLGBTQI+ community is deeply alarming.
All people deserve safety and freedom to be who they are.

In Wednesday’s Question Period, NDP MP Randall Garrison accused the Million Person March of being “anti-trans” and making it impossible for transgender children to feel safe.
“As Canadians we should be making sure that all of our kids feel safe, loved, and supported. But right now, anti-trans demonstrations across Canada are making this impossible, especially for trans kids,” said Garrison.
Lindsey Graham called it in 2016: "If we nominate Trump, we will get destroyed ... and we will deserve it."

but some deserve it more than others :)
I can have a different opinion to someone else, don't think they are " hating me" I dislike when people toss hateful around like confetti
Save it for when you really, truly, totally HATE something or someone
People should be able to protest, counter protest, counter the counter the counter protest

Don't jump to conclusions Pappy, just because politicians are using these words does not mean they know what they're talking about. Psst, they often don't.
It's when politicians make comments like this "Canada is a welcoming place for everyone" that I'm concerned knowing just how many Khalistani terrorists are in Canada, wanted by Interpol.
Do you think Justin has been too welcoming?
Hmm, maybe not, since Jagmert is pulling his strings.
I've got one more thing for you.
Today walking past a high school at lunch break there was a large group of kids, 70 to 80, outside on the street.
They had a megaphone and were carrying signs. What I saw and heard surprised me,
There are only two genders,
we want our bathrooms back,
hands off our libraries, etc.
No adults in sight.
Way to go kids.

I see some old familiar, ID's have popped up again.
Justin's renewing social media influencer contracts in a lame attempt to hit the brakes on his slide into 3rd place in polling. But it's futile. Justin and the Trudeau Liberals are dead ducks, and even his old pappy couldn't revive him now.
One has to wonder - does Beijing fund Justin's social media influencers?

It's pretty hilarious that the people quick to accuse others of being 'influencers' are the same ones who post literal party propaganda emails bashing Trudeau from some angry geriatric named Bill.Gone_Fishin wrote: ↑Sep 21st, 2023, 7:07 pm I see some old familiar, ID's have popped up again.

But as with everything conservative, every accusation is an admission, so it would be prudent for Mr. Trudeau to determine if Bill is running the propaganda farm or just a gullible fool that propaganda farms prey upon.
