Re: Deport Humboldt Driver
I said this before. He made an unimaginable mistake. He took full responsibility and he is in jail because of it.
If people in general were strong enough to accept responsibility for their actions as he did, admit guilt and spare the court system and the families of the dead the pain and struggles of a trial, the world would be a better place.
He is doing his time.
We allow drug dealers, street racers who kill and who are from the same part of the world after they have committed crimes or caused death and show no remorse and who often times become repeat offenders to stay in Canada but this guy we want to send back.

Re: Deport Humboldt Driver
He was the catalyst for positive change in the industry if there is a positive side to it. Instead of getting a class1 in 3 hours of truck rental and presto your death on wheels like I did, now a class1 actually involves some training.
He actually is probably a really good guy that had a brief moment of neglect that could have happened to anyone. He is not a criminal in my opinion.

Some may view my politically incorrect opinions as harsh and may be offended by them. Some think political correctness will be our undoing.

On one hand, it sets a bit of an example for other people of what happens when you cause an accident.
On the other hand, it won't bring lives back.

I don't agree with deportation in this case.
He owned his tragic mistake and has to live with the results of it for the rest of his life.
Additionally if the plan all along was to deport him, then why on earth are Canadian tax payers footing the bill for his incarceration? Should have deported him immediately in that case.

It doesn't though. It only sets an example for non citizen's. A citizen would not be deported.Even Steven wrote: ↑Jul 20th, 2022, 3:10 pm On one hand, it sets a bit of an example for other people of what happens when you cause an accident.

And it was not intentional.
You can't deport everyone who has an accident causing death.
Permanent residents, non-citizens, immigrants are not perfect.
Everyone make mistakes.

I could be wrong but trucking violations and traffic violations are not the same thing.
Someone in the industry could shed a light for me here.

let me guess the courts are never wrong.Even Steven wrote: ↑Jul 20th, 2022, 4:58 pmThe court convicted him of dangerous driving causing death, not intentional murder. Whatever people make up is not reality, court proceedings are reality.
