Jagmeet Singh Gaslights Canadians On "Greedflation"

Post by DataCruncher »

He wants Canadians to forget who is propping up Truedope.

Canada’s NDP leader Jagmeet Singh took Canada’s Thanksgiving weekend as an opportunity to virtue-signal on Twitter, where he blamed corporations and conservatives for causing “greedflation” that is gouging everyday Canadians at the cash register.

Not even Thanksgiving is safe from Jagmeet.
I'm posting this from Traditional lands of the British Empire & the current Lands of The Dominion of Canada.
I also give thanks for this ethos richness bestowed on us via British Colonialism.

Numerous countries around the world over printed their currencies (including Canada), to offset some of the damages of foolishly shutting down during early days of covid.

Roughly 2 years later these same countries have having inflation issues, people are buying into the BS their governments are telling them. Please continue to place your brain on the shelf.
I don't give a damn whether people/posters like me or dislike me, I'm not on earth to win any popularity contests.

Jagmeet, you got it wrong - it's "Greenflation" that is causing increases in energy prices etc. Not this "greedflation" fairy tale you are trying to sell to the truly gullible and stupid.

John Ivison: Singh's grasp on economics suggests he's visiting from Planet Moneybags

OTTAWA — It’s all the rage these days for politicians to bash the Bank of Canada, which is not surprising given the central bank is as popular as halitosis for driving up interest rates.

With another hike expected this week — the sixth this year — opposition party leaders were getting their retaliation in early.

Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre has form in this area. He is revelling in the revelation that the central bank will see negative net income in its third quarter, the consequence of its adventure in government bond-buying during the pandemic, and the subsequent steep rise in inflation.

Poilievre predicted this two years ago, although he is less vocal about the fact that this is the first loss in the bank’s 87-year history. Nor did he reflect on the downside for the Canadian economy if the bank had not provided liquidity when the pandemic hit two years ago.

But at least Poilievre’s criticism is grounded in reality.

NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh appears to live on another economic planet, saying on Sunday that there is “no merit” to the bank’s interest rate approach.

Singh is a warm and decent man, but when he lurches onto the subject of the dismal science, he is too ambitious, like a children’s entertainer who wants to play Shakespeare.

On CTV Question Period on the weekend, Singh was quizzed by host Joyce Napier about the need for monetary policy (the central bank) and fiscal policy (the federal government) to work together.

The jumbled nonsense verse that followed suggested yes, we need to combat inflation by reversing the bank’s interest rate hikes and by the government putting money back into people’s pockets — a novel approach to the problem of excess demand.

Singh blamed the rise of inflation on “root causes” like the war in Ukraine, supply chain issues and “corporate greed,” namely gouging by grocery stores. The Competition Bureau said Monday it is launching a study of grocery competition in Canada, so the NDP leader may not be completely out to hyper-inflated lunch there.

the deal with Mr. Trudeau, effectively and objectively reduced the greatest protest party Canada has ever had to a mere sidecar, or to vary the metaphor, a political-airbag should the Liberals ever face some collision in the House of Commons?

<snip>

NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh says it is unlikely that his party would pull their support for the Liberals if the Public Order Emergency Commission examining the federal government’s invocation of the Emergencies Act concludes that doing so was not justified.”

<snip>

Mr. Singh gives Mr. Trudeau the ability, unearned by electoral vote, to rule as a majority government. An ability the election he called in a pandemic denied him, one which he does not legitimately own, and one he now holds as a result of a purely political barter. These two have short-circuited the elements of our democracy.

As usual, Rex is bang on. Love this guy's editorials. :up:
