I monitor a few other political forums and the same manure is being trotted out by Liberal fanatics and "afficionados" on those boards as it is here - "you can't vote for those darn Conservatives cuz they racist and abortions and gay stuff and full of hate" etc etc etc. Katie sends out the same script across the country, and it's always the same - you have to vote for us, cuz other guys are Nazis. It's just sickening. Even after its been shown again and again who corrupt and awful the Liberals are, they just make up barf like this and keep throwing it, hoping they can still scare a few gullible fools.

Most unfortunate that the National Post won’t allow browsers without paid subscriptions to view Rex’s column now. I can’t even access his writings by the backdoor (MSM) as I once did to bring to you his incisive, witty commentary concerning the events of the day. However, the “comments” section is still available to read and from all across the country, NOT ONE citizen defended the abrupt resignations from the PET Foundation or found excuses for them.

Here is just a sampling of those comments, one of which I didn’t screenshot was to this effect: ‘should the glorious news that JT finally stepped down on a Friday, there’d be no one showing up for work on Monday…all hung over from celebrating all weekend long,’. (And liquor stores would be sold out too)

Carson Jerema: Trudeau Foundation deserves its fate

The Trudeau Liberals are as committed as ever to the shameless argument that the scandal is not Chinese interference into Canadian affairs, but the fact that China’s meddling was revealed to the public. It is a tactic that can’t withstand anyone looking too closely, or facts getting in the way, as was the case with the Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation this week.

The charity said Wednesday that it would conduct an investigation into a $200,000 donation allegedly made on behalf of the Chinese government in an apparent attempt at influencing Justin Trudeau. That announcement came after the CEO and the entire board of directors of the foundation resigned, and after the Liberals tried to blame “Conservative” attacks for the upheaval.

It was barely a day before the obviously disingenuous explanation from the CEO that blamed “politicization” for the mass resignations was debunked. According to former board directors who spoke to Montreal’s La Presse, that story was a “bunch of lies.” It wasn’t the “unfounded and ungrounded attacks,” as Trudeau put it, that led to the board resigning.

In fact, tensions at the organization, which was set up to honour the prime minister’s father, flowed from “ethical” concerns over accepting the donation, which one former board director called a “stink bomb” of a gift.

While the foundation claimed last month to have refunded the donor after the Chinese government’s alleged involvement was made public, the funds may not have been immediately returned as the foundation suggested. La Presse, which reviewed an internal document, reported that the “the name on the cheque” for the donation “was not the name of the real donor.” Therefore, reimbursement would be “unlawful.”

To try and resolve the matter, no fewer than eight board members demanded an independent investigation and called for anyone who was part of the foundation at the time of the 2016 donation to recuse themselves from discussing the matter. The old guard refused, which raises its own set of questions.

PMO ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT 'CHINESE DONATION'
Although Justin Trudeau has always claimed that a wall separates his office from the foundation that bears his father's name, La Presse obtained an email exchange, dated November 2016, where a key employee of PMO asks for details of the "Chinese donation" which had been made only a few months earlier
The exchange occurred on Thursday, November 24, 2016, five months after the donation agreement, worth $200,000 to the foundation, was signed by Zhang Bin, Gensheng Niu, and also by Alexandre Trudeau, brother of Justin Trudeau and a member of the foundation's board of directors at the time.
This exchange of emails was between the Foundation's Executive Director at the time, Élise Comtois, and Zita Astravas, who was then PMO director of issues management.
