Government is not bragging about record profits.

You mean like justin’s buddies Loblaws that Canadian taxpayers absolutely had to buy new refrigerators for because as we all know they were just scraping by? How were their profits this year ?

Broke records like everyone else. You wouldn't be trying to say that things would be different under PP, now would you ?

Under Mr Poilievre, Liberal donors, the billionaire Weston family, wouldn't be $12 million richer.

There would be $12 million more spent on helping addicts recover, or single moms find a place to live, or funding police to capture criminals.

So yes, there would be a huge difference.

I sure hope your correct about how PP will save Canada, until the man becomes PM ( if he does) and we actually see him in action , none of us really knows if he will actually fix our broken country or just put on some more band aids on it like every Party usually does

I do believe that if he does become PM he'll most likely drop the carbon tax BUT what other tax will he increase to replace the revenue ? ain't no Government ever changes a tax and doesn't replace it with another one

I'm thinking he'll use income tax , royalty and other revenues from oil , natural gas and other resources ( including clean technology ) much more efficiently and prudently than that scum bag POS PM we have now .

I sure hope you're right- but the reality is our Government is just a huge rigged Party and they are all in on it and nobody seems to have the balls to really change the entire system so it works better for Us, We the People

but I'm praying that change is coming because life here in Canada right now is expensive and everyone I know is struggling in some way

Without our huge supply of natural resources, Canada would be considered a 3rd world nation.
We do virtually no manufacturing of our own, vast majority of that manufacturing we do is owned elsewhere.
I don't give a damn whether people/posters like me or dislike me, I'm not on earth to win any popularity contests. I am an old cantankerousness grump that happens to be very opinionated.

Pretty much nailed it.

I have a feeling it will get worse before it gets better. Getting cutting permits or the opening of a mine is becoming more difficult today without shakedowns.
I know of a valve manufacturing plant in Surrey that manufactured water control valves and shipped them world wide. Put up for sale and no Canadian outfit was interested so as usual an American company bought it and moved it to the States. Forty very high paying jobs gone.
I believe Stelco was more or less the same. The US didn't like the competition so they bought the Canadian company and tried to shut it down.
Instead of Trudeau's spraying millions or billions about, how about partnering with Alberta and the oil sands companies and build an upgrader refinery in Alberta so oil can be shipped without the dilbit. That oil would now loose the $15-$20 a barrel discount it is now subjected to.
That would happen the same time I see a unicorn walking down the street.
Now, if the con's could have something like that in their policy ????

We used to. Steady relaxing of international trade barriers have made it easy for Canadian manufactures to outsource jobs to places where the cost, and standards, of living are lower.
