What's Next for Rachel Notely?
Interesting read from a long-time Alberta pundit:
Is there a path to the PMO for Alberta’s former NDP premier?
"The buzz grows louder by the day that sooner than later Ms. Notley is going to move on from her present role as Alberta’s Opposition leader."
>snip<
"After almost a decade, the country sure feels like it’s had enough of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. Despite recent bad polls, he still might win in a year or two, though. As veteran political commentator Michael Harris put it yesterday in The Tyee, “there are few things less relevant than a mid-summer poll with no election in sight.”
And it would seem that for every Canadian who can’t stand the PM, there’s one who finds Conservative Opposition Leader Pierre Poilievre repellent. As Mr. Harris pointed out, the Conservatives’ record in office is even worse than that of the Liberals.
In May 2011, the natural place for Canadians who couldn’t abide the Conservatives and felt no love for the Liberals to turn was the NDP, led by Jack Layton. It nearly worked, and had Mr. Layton survived, he might well have been prime minister soon enough.
After Mr. Layton’s death on Aug. 22 that year, the party chose Thomas Mulcair, perhaps the most effective federal Opposition leader of the modern era, but too Liberal, it would seem, for many NDP activists.
The best that can be said about their successor, Jagmeet Singh, is that he has been underwhelming. And what kind of an alternative is an NDP that supports the Liberals at every turn and keeps their government afloat? That strategy has its proponents, but at this point it’s turning into not much more than an effective talking point for angry Conservatives."
>snip<
"To be blunt, if the national NDP is going to survive it needs a leader stronger than Mr. Singh.
Who, in Opposition, would be more like Mr. Mulcair than Ms. Notley?
And who would be more like Mr. Layton in the minds of Canadian voters than Ms. Notley?
And wouldn’t it be nice to see former Alberta Premier Jason Kenney’s dream come true that, finally, the premiership of Alberta could be a stepping stone to the Prime Minister’s Office? Only just not for him."

With some training, she might be able to work a late night drive-thru, although her Klimate Kook self would likely overpower her as the cars and trucks idled in line.
"Do you want fries with that, you Klimate Destroying Pig?" probably won't sit too well with Albertan workers at a 4:00am stop to get breakfast as they head out to work, trying to provide food and shelter for their families.
The prairies have beautiful sunsets - she should saddle up and ride into one (just don't let her cross into BC).

Let her and Jagmeet battle it out for the leadership of the federal keep jt liberals in power Party.
I don't give a damn whether people/posters like me or dislike me, I'm not on earth to win any popularity contests. I am an old cantankerousness grump that happens to be very opinionated.

Heard there’s openings for stall cleaners at the horse track…although she wouldn’t white qualify for that either.

Bwhaaa haa this clown is delusional. It nearly worked, and had Mr. Layton survived, he might well have been prime minister soon enough
Does Notley speak French? Probably not.
But yes, if she's a political hack like Jenny Kwanumist she could run federally and run up that second pension. As leader of the federal NDP one can agree that it would be hard to be any worse than that buffoons idiot Jagmeet. But unfortunately the NDP only seems to attract low-functioning buffoons, so they have a very dark future federally.
Maybe they could attract the Manitoba NDP leader to run federally?

This part had my particular attention:
"And it would seem that for every Canadian who can’t stand the PM, there’s one who finds Conservative Opposition Leader Pierre Poilievre repellent.
Layton survived, he might well have been prime minister soon enough."
Ms.Notely gained office in Alberta while the two supposedly main contenders, the Wild Rose and the Progressive Conservatives fought amongst themselves, both basically ignoring the NDP as a party the voters might seriously see as an alternative to the status quo. Not totally unlike what is going on now.
What really sunk the PC ship for Jim Prentice was his suggestion that Albertans might have to help bail Alberta out of the mess the oil price crash had put them in by coughing up some more tax dollars, through stuff like provincial healthcare premiums or a sales tax. Ms. Notely's strategy of increasing the corporate tax rate and bumping up personal income tax for high earners suddenly didn't sound too bad to Alberta voters. How quickly the tiger changed its stripes.
And we certainly are ready for some new faces on the federal stage, nothing too exciting anywhere there right now.

Trudeau is a sexual assailant, black-faced racist, and elbows women in the boob. The Green Barbarian wrote: ↑Aug 23rd, 2023, 4:24 pm Maybe they could attract the Manitoba NDP leader to run federally?
Maybe Wab with his record of beating up and racially slurring taxi drivers, sexually assaulting women, and drunk driving has the left's qualifications for PM?
It's kinda funny that the NDP lackeys are already looking to punt Jagmeet before an election gets called. Don't they have faith in their illustrious leader? Can Jagmeet survive on income as a slumlord with his wife?
And isn't Notley still leader of the Alberta NDP? Weren't the NDP faithful here crowing loudly about how well she did after Danielle mopped the floor with her? If she did so well, why are they looking to stab her in the back now? Reminiscent of the Carole James yellow scarf fiasco - the daggers are always poised by these left wing kooks!

Re: What's Next for Rachel Notely?
It actually sounded awful and stupid, which is why other than the moronic dupes in Edmonton, her foolish campaign strategy of hiking taxed failed to resonate.
As I said, Notley could choose to double down on pensions like the pathetic loser Jenny Kwan, but she'd be a terrible choice for the NDP. Given all their options are awful though, she might be the least worst of a really crappy bunch.

Not much to say here.
NDP quietly checking her in to a Treatment Facility.
Then we can all listen to the virtues of her AA accomplishments.

Rachel is taking a retraining program to match her skillset to a job she's qualified for.
