Should Canada have conscription?

compulsory enrollment of persons especially for military service : draft. During the war the armed forces were heavily dependent on conscription.

I say, if some tyrant dictator - wanted to attack Canada, this country should be FREE to send
as many men into the meat grinder - for as long as it takes. Even if the meat grinder turns into a genocide.

• If people flee the country to avoid the meat grinder, should they be jailed if they're caught? I say yes - jail the traitors.

In regards for Middle Easterners, the EU considers fleeing from conscription a legitimate reason to be granted asylum, but not for Ukrainians.

Many didn't wait and volunteered, to their credit.

Now,,,, in today's world.... Wouldn't (shouldn't) that apply to everyone of that certain age range ? Male, female and alphabet.

None of it would matter one bit. I’m as proud a Canadian as the next guy on the bench beside me at the hockey game, but let’s be honest here. Take one look at China’s military preparedness and then look at ours. Their front line grunts are learning 10 ways to immobilize your opponent with your bare hands - and we’re fighting over whether the drill Sargent offended someone by using the wrong pronoun.

Our military spending has flatlined under Trudeau to the point of being called out in US senate judiciary hearings. We couldn’t fight our way out of a plastic, no paper, um uh drink holder box thingy.

How can we expect the true north strong and free to sign up and defend their nation when our own so-called leader ran and hid in his cottage because the truck horns were too loud. Pathetic.
