I feel rather bad for Rota, he was the fall guy, agreed, better to resign with some honor than be kicked to the curb
It's never ever JTs fault according to him

Of course and jt will disappear for a few days til things settle down and then …… on to the next failure , we expect nothing less. Can anybody tell me how long it takes to establish the speaker of the house position? Apparently parliament won’t resume until there is a speaker appointed .

Well National Tofino Surfing Day aka Indigenous Day is coming up so Justin is probably flying over Kamloops right about now...

Meanwhile, Hunka is filing his papers to run as a Liberal MP in Rota's riding....

I don't feel bad for Rota nor do I think he's a true man- he resigned because he was forced to and should of he didn't do his job just like his Party the Liberals - but he'll retire on a very nice tax payer pension

LILLEY: Conservatives condemn Nazi in Commons, Liberals try to erase

The Conservatives asked the House of Commons to condemn the appearance of a former Nazi soldier in chamber, the Liberals asked MPs to erase history.

The contrast between the reaction of the two parties to a deeply embarrassing event for Canada is shocking and telling.

Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre stood in the House before question period to raise a point of order and put a motion to the House.

“That, this House condemn the invitation and recognition of this individual at an address to the Parliament of Canada,” Poilievre said before going on to blame Prime Minister Justin Trudeau himself.

“That this House condemn the prime minister, and the Government of Canada for either failing to do appropriate vetting on this individual or having done vetting and failed to stop him being admitted to and recognized in Parliament.”

Asked for unanimous consent to pass the motion, Liberals MPs shouted out no.

Shortly after the end of question period, Liberal House Leader Karina Gould asked for a sweeping motion to erase history .

Gould asked that “the recognition made by the Speaker of the House of an individual present in the galleries during the joint address of His Excellency Volodymyr Zelenskyy be struck from the appendix of the House of Commons debate” and that the incident be erased from any and all multi-media.
This time it was the Conservatives who said no and with good reason.

“It would be absolutely wrong to strike what was said from the record,” Conservative MP Marty Morantz said. “It goes without saying that those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it. What happened on Friday was shameful and brought embarrassment to this chamber. It was an ugly reminder of what survivors of the Holocaust know all too well — we must never forget.”

Morantz called the request to erase what happened last week an attempt to wash the record clean.

The Liberals have been trying to pin all the blame on the Speaker of the House, saying that he has control over the Commons. The Conservatives are arguing that the government failed to properly vet the guest list for security and political concerns, something they say rests with the government and not the Speaker.

Conservative MP Andrew Scheer, who was Speaker when the 2014 terrorist attack happened on Parliament Hill, pointed to the change in structure for security after the attack. Scheer attempted to table in the Commons two documents, one showing the reporting structure for the Parliamentary Protective Service and the other a signed document outlining the changes.

Both of those documents show that the Parliamentary Protective Service now reports to the RCMP rather than the Speaker. The RCMP reports to the government through the minister of public safety.

I just find it hilarious that the Liberals are so freaking dense that they actually accused the Conservatives of not clapping loud enough for a Nazi. How are these scum still in power? Who is still dumb enough to vote for these Liberal scum?

I sure hope the old goat Nazi Killer gets extradited too, standing up like that with tears in his eyes loving the love he was given knowing that he was a murderer of innocent people

My question though is - what did everyone expect? People voted for a low-functioning idiot and a government full of low-functioning idiots. Did you really think it would turn out any different than this total crap show? If so, why?

It is shameful... and every card carrying Liberal should reflect on the party they support... On the surface it appears as if Rota was negligent... a deeper dive may reveal more about the PMO's part in this... especially when reviewing the speakers speech/introduction of the Nazi in the gallery and it appears as if it was written for him and NOT by him. :smt045
Censorship may lead to lack of information and subsequent development of apathy, ignorance, conformism and general stagnation. It may threaten democracy and encourage subversive activities... but worse is invisible censorship - it's alive and well.
