America dropped 7 million - yes, 7 million - tons of bombs on North Vietnam, versus only 2 million during the entire course of WW2. Other than causing over a million deaths and destruction on an unimaginable scale,in the end the bombing campaign against North Vietnam changed absolutely nothing. Every bullet fired, every bomb dropped and every life lost was in vain and that will be history's judgement on the Iraq and Afghanistan misadventures as well.

they were controlled targets in north vietnam and they were unable to engage the enemy in countries colluding with the VC. much like the issues with the countries surrounding afganistan. the issue is far more than just the bombing. its being effective in ending a war. which since we dropped 2 bombs on japan you cant do anymore. i cant wait until the next decisive conflict between iran and israel. 2 countries that will not have any issues eradicating their enemies, because their war is not about economics and politics. its about survival and victory. ever notice how the Israelis were able to have a 7 day war and western powers are too inept to have a war that is less than a decade?

This article gives you a small peek into why they had to get rid of Kennedy and bring in Johnson. There was money to be made and Kennedy was holding them back.
