North Korea nuclear test suspected after 'artificial' quake

North Korea is suspected of carrying out its fifth test of a nuclear bomb, after a magnitude 5.3 earthquake was detected close to its test site.
South Korea's Yonhap news agency said it had been an "artificial quake".
An unnamed South Korean government source said it was highly likely to have been a nuclear test.
There has been no confirmation from the North, but previous artificial earthquakes in that area and of that magnitude have all been nuclear tests.

Kim Jong-un imo is lose cannon, South Korea & Japan are possible targets if he does something crazy (with either conventional or nuclear weapons).

Of course if he is suicidal China or Russia

In reality North Korea does not have the long range missiles to deliver warheads to North America. I expect that before he gets very much further with his Nuclear Program any number of countries who live closer to him, including South Korea, will cause most blessed and much loved Kim Jong Un to have a well deserved "unfortunate fatal accident".

What I'd like to know:

Does he truly believe his own rhetoric? Or is it mostly a show in an attempt to control/manipulate the populace?

He's just so wacky I'm tempted to think he actually believes in his own claims.
