We are seeing a similar colonialism right here in the Okanagan. And it is creeping every year. Cherry orchards are being purchased by companies from China to supply the appetite in China. But they are bringing in their own managers and workers to run these orchards. They pay them minimum wage so they are in compliance with Canadian laws, but they claw back most of that with charges for living expenses and transportation. Enough so that they are paid pretty much what they'd get paid back home. In a decade or so I hope that these same Canadian who are outraged by South Africa as angry about what is happening right here.

Doubt it, the same Canadians who have been complicit with British colonialism for the last 300 years will likely remain silent about offshore buyers investing in orchards.

Yes, vast swaths of farmland being owned by foreign interests, Canadians being reduced to living off of what they can grow in their own yards and properties.

Every history book on the planet will give you a brief summary of Dutch colonization of South America, it’s not a pretty story and would inevitably lead to resentment against them. Cultural enrichment from the Europeans led to apartheid and forcible relocation of millions of real Africans.

Boy you need a good lesson in Geography I do believe...along with some history lessons.

Dumbing down has become a very big issue with the young people these days.

Since there was only 1 part of this planet that passed laws on apartheid, that was not in South America. It's same area that used a K word to refer to Africans, similar to the US & the N word.

Apartheid was terrible, no doubt about that. What forcible relocation of millions of "real" Africans are you talking about. What is a "real" African? Also, would these same history books mention the forcible deaths of millions of "real" Africans at the hands of Shaka Zulu? So many "forcible" deaths that the area settled by the Dutch (Cape Town) was almost completely devoid of "real" Africans, because they had all been genocided? Or is that not convenient to the narrative?
