The images are striking: throngs of Central American migrants crossing Mexico during Holy Week as they make their way north to the US border.
It's become an annual tradition, and getting publicity has always been a goal for this and other so-called "caravans" that periodically make their way through Mexico.
This year's journey is getting even more attention than usual after a series of tweets on Sunday and Monday from US President Donald Trump.

That's quite a long trek. Do we have 5000+ migrants pooping and peeping along the roadside? Where do they get food and lodging? I hope Trump will hurry up with his wall since these migrants end up coming to Canada too and I'm all for pinching JT's supply of illegal illegals.

It's funny how an right fake news site like Investment watchblog puts the number of participants at 5000, while other news services like Fox News and CNN have the number at about 1000, and they add that many of those will be staying in Mexico and not even make it to the border.
It's not about getting to the states, it's about escaping the Honduras.

Both Fox News and CNN say the caravan is about 1000 people. The organizers say the numbers are about 1100.
Right now they are passing through Oaxaxa, which should put them at the U.S. border sometime before the end of the year.
This is the fourth or fifth caravan in the past few years and by the time the previous ones reached the states, there were about 200 people left.
Thankfully, the only people falling for the right's exaggerated numbers are the right themselves, locked safely in their media echo chambers.
