Old Age Pensioner Charged with Murder???

Post by Glacier »

Man, 78, arrested over fatal stabbing of suspected burglar

A 78-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a suspected burglar was fatally stabbed at his home in London.

The pensioner discovered two intruders at this house in Hither Green, south-east London, late on Tuesday night and was forced into his kitchen by one armed with a screwdriver, according to Scotland Yard.

While the second man was upstairs, detectives believe that a struggle ensued and the 38-year-old intruder was stabbed in the upper body. He was taken by an ambulance to a central London hospital where he was pronounced dead in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

He should get a medal not charged with a crime!

We've been saying it for a long time, the criminals have all the rights. Now they have the right to enter your home unimpeded?

WOW! I'll be the English will not stand for this and will protest loudly over the stupidity of it all.
As WW3 develops, no one is going to be dissing the "preppers." What have you done?

Homeowners have been advised here at home as well about meeting force with force. Killing someone is never acceptable unless one's life is at risk and then one can still be expected to be before the courts. This gentleman is out on bail and the investigation will be ongoing for some time. I expect a favourable outcome for him. The police absolutely could not ignore any possibility but must follow the rules of the land.

I'm not sure I follow you Jflem. Are you saying the homeowner would have been better off if he had shot the other guy, instead of stabbing him?

There is no fear of the law. Fear of the homeowner is non existant when guns are banned. So have at er

Is the headline a question?
If so the answer is No

Did not a single one of you read the article????

He was arrested and questioned, but not charged with murder.
Clear misrepresentation by the op.

Of course I did which is why I posted the link regarding the legal system. No one has responded to that since so I expect people get it now. People get the term "arrested" with being charged confused but I did have a chuckle at the wording in this write up:
was initially arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm but has been further arrested on suspicion of murder

https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/f ... d-12304310
Arrested is arrested but the why was changed. Anyhoo the gentleman could still be charged with murder so the question is still up in the air.

If your backwards logic was true there’d be no break ins, home invasions or robberies in the United States where there’s no shortage of armed citizens.
