Royal Wedding

It's interesting that there's been a huge divide between Anglicans in the US and England stretching back a couple hundred years (the Americans left in a bloody war after all). Anyway, this article is quite interesting...

The wedding is tomorrow.

Does anyone care? :135:

Nope

Nope - the sooner this fiasco is over, the better.

The royal family has already made a huge mistake.

Dance as if no one's watching, sing as if no one's listening, and live everyday as if it were your last.

Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass. It's about learning to dance in the rain.

It entered my mind about a month ago.
Some may view my above politically incorrect opinions as 'harsh' and may even be offended by them. Some think political correctness will be our undoing.

I give it maximum 10 years or shortly after Queen's passing, whichever comes first.

meh, as stated on the news tonight, it is a welcome reprieve from what is going on in America and the rest of the world.

Pretty sure this is a business deal as opposed to a real marriage.

The expression on the Queen's face expressed what I thought about it all.
And George Clooney got an invite?
I'm betting 3 years tops

I think it's going to be forever. Unhappy forever once she understands the pressures, but she won't give up the perks.

I taped it and watched it this morning. In a world of doom and gloom, pipeline protests, school shootings, and god knows what else, it's nice to have something pleasant to watch for a change.

All that pomp and splendour is a rare sight to behold, and just harmless fun. It didn't cost us Canadians anything (other than a $50,000 donation to charity as a wedding gift) and it was a pleasure to see all those people in the crowd having such a good time. What's the harm in that?

Sometimes we all take life far too seriously, and seeing folks just having fun can serve as a reminder of the need to make time to pause now and again to do things for no other reason than the pure enjoyment those activities provide us. And watching the royal wedding fell into that category for me.
