The Caravan Invasion saga continues with some dashing across the border, others throwing rocks, etc.

This is not an orderly migrant situation but a storming of the USA border.

An ugly situation

If Caravaners succeed most of S. America will be on the march north in greater numbers knowing that a violent entry works wonders.

Thanks for the input Ocasio-Cortez. The left is definitely doing what they do best, totally overblowing this issue to the point where their insane reactions just make people wretch.

The horror sparked outrage over the weekend, most of it overblown.
Unaware of the difference, newly-elected New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez compared the use of tear gas at the border to the use of lethal gas in the Holocaust. One killed six million Jews, the other temporarily aggravates the mucous membranes.

Equally uninformed, Sen. Brian Schatz wondered in a now-deleted tweet whether the use of tear gas was “consistent with the Conventions on Chemical Weapons?” This was a stupid question from the senior senator from Hawaii. Tear gas can be found in the armories of law enforcement agencies across the world. And pepper spray was routinely used at the border during the previous administration. But apparently non-lethal means of riot control constitute a violation of international law when a Republican is in the White House.

All of this outrage misses the point. Blame doesn’t belong with Border Patrol. They weren’t confronting a mob of toddlers. They were face-to-face with hundreds of adult migrants who chose to start chucking rocks. Officers responded with appropriate nonlethal force. The fact that children were caught in the crossfire isn’t a crime, unless the crime is child neglect or bad parenting by those who brought them to the scene.

Anyone seeking asylum can apply for it at a port of entry. But these migrants chose not to do that. They rushed a barbed-wire fence in an attempt not only to break U.S. law, but to challenge the legitimacy of the government that enacted it. The mothers who brought their kids with them endangered their own children.

Wait. Teargassing children is a partisan issue now?

Screw us for not wanting to see kids tear gassed right... I never quoted Cortez or Schatz. They could have easily handled the situation without it. How many points of entry are actually processing people? Looks like they closed the major ones.. so how do they actually seek Asylum when there is no legal way to do it?

That's a bit extreme. How about "looking at the entire picture instead of just choosing to believe alt-left emotion-based reporting".

I never quoted Cortez or Schatz.

Yeah I know. I did. And they sounded like idiots.

They could have easily handled the situation without it.

Were you there? Why were those kids even in that situation???? What were the illegal migrants thinking??

So your response would be then to start throwing rocks at cops and border guards, with women and small children present. Brilliant solution.

Don't want kids to get tear gassed? Don't tear gas them! This is a war crime. These people are seeking help and have came across a nation of savages and they still think it's better than what they left behind. These people deserve to apply for asylum, as they are legally entitled, not to be treated cruelly and dehumanized. It's really shocking to see people even trying to defend this.

:135: how so? No matter how ignorant and imbecilic Trump behaves these same people have been making excuses for and defending him since before his election. This people are only looking at this thru their super-thick partisan lenses. They can't see past their hate for liberals and are thus incapable of engaging in any thoughtful assessment. Trump should be in jail, and not for being a Republican (as it suits his purpose now) as this is not a partisan argument but rather a moral one.

It seems some understand the importance of keeping their borders secure from invasion

Or don't bring them to riots!! Another good idea!!

This is a war crime.

OK Ocasio-Cortez Sanders Schatz. Good grief, it's not a war crime. That's just ridiculous.

These people are seeking help and have came across a nation of savages and they still think it's better than what they left behind.

No, they are trying to enter a country illegally. Why would it be any different in any other country? Borders are borders. As much as the Left hates this concept.

These people deserve to apply for asylum, as they are legally entitled, not to be treated cruelly and dehumanized. It's really shocking to see people even trying to defend this.

I agree, it's shocking to see people try and defend rioting illegal immigrants attacking border guards and police. It is totally shocking that these border guards are bing dehumanized by hordes of warm tummies that wanted them to just stand there and be attacked without fighting back. It's really sad actually.

on this we can agree. A lot of people looking at things through super-thick partisan lenses, rather than trying to understand the concept of international law. Here's where I laugh. By the same token then the Jewish people should be able to take over all of Palestine. They were refugees too. But no, that's not fair. The hypocrisy is just ridiculous.
