This situation today is political. Once it has blown over drug shipments will resume post haste. We just gotta have those drugs!

And let's not forget all those subsidiaries that depend on drugs for their businesses: drug counselling, lawyers, safe injection and drug od revival peeps JHS, police, etc.

We can't have them standing in unemployment lines

Sufficiently advanced incompetence is indistinguishable from malice. There’s a certain point at which ignorance becomes malice, at which there is simply no way to become THAT ignorant except deliberately and maliciously.

Is it political, likely so. Watch this one and see where it ends.

Trudeau wouldn't negotiate with his coveted Muslims before they beheaded 2 Canadians, so why should Trudeau intervene now for a criminal?

I am on the fence about death penalties - I figure a guy gets punished harder if he has to live in a jail cell the rest of his life.

However, with that being said, I believe the Chinese are making an example of this Huawei thing, and only that should be the focus. - if they do execute him ( which is their prerogative), Trudeau should go ahead with the extradition forthwith then deport all the known Chinese gangsters that are shooting up Vancouver and Toronto & let them deal with them.

However, regardless of the situation, this guy has to pay the penalties of the country he committed the offence in.

It really is no different than dealing drugs in Indonesia, Malaysia and Philippines - drug dealers are executed - end of story.

If you play with fire, you better be ready to get burned, and to poke a stick at China is simply asking for it.

If the Chinese are overturning their leniency and setting a precedent, perhaps we should too with the Huawei exec. After all we gotta teach spies and their accessories a lesson. (give them more than a dutch rub)

ZTE and Huawei equipment should be banned in Canada just like all the other G7 member countries, otherwise it is useless. The CEO of Huawei is an ex army officer. Hail China, Hail China, Hail China! I wouldn't trust Huawei as far as I could throw a bus... which ain't that far.

Everyone wants to steal these days.

Trump calls on China to seek the death penalty for distributors of opioid fentanyl, saying 'the results will be incredible!'

President Trump calls on China to seek the death penalty for distributors of fentanyl, a deadly opioid linked to thousands of deaths in the United States each year. China is the largest source of the drug.
"If China cracks down on this 'horror drug,' using the Death Penalty for distributors and pushers, the results will be incredible!" the president tweets.
The Trump administration has made it a top priority to tackle Chinese exports of fentanyl and its precursor chemicals. Fentanyl is a synthetic opioid that can be as much as 100 times stronger than morphine.
