Not sure war is a green activity or allowed under the Paris accord.

The CBC has been surprisingly quiet on Hong Kong the last week even though army vehicles are rolling in. Organizers of protests report being beaten up by masked armed thugs. Mainland China is getting desperate and have no clue how to handle people who want freedom. The CBC has lost interest in any coverage all of a sudden in TV, radio, or their website. Maybe Justin told them to close their eyes, while every other outlet has news.

Maybe its as simple as this.

Once it became clear that the protesters championed American patriots, the radical left started siding with the police and the Chinese Communist Party. Progressive journalist Ben Norton, for instance, said in a tweet that “there are literal fascists in the Hong Kong guarimbas: they are the anti-China ones meeting with US diplomats, waving US/UK flags, singing the US anthem, torturing mainland journos, using Pepe symbols, & attracting US white supremacists like Patriot Prayer.“

He added that “the violent protests remain dominated by far-right anti-Chinese jingoists & pro-imperialist liberals. They lack a working-class base.”

Since the protesters are ethnically Chinese, the “anti-Chinese” and “anti-China” label makes sense only as a reference to the Communist system of governance in China. That is, Norton and his socialist acolytes support the authoritarian regime in Beijing over those who want to live in peace, the American way.

The CBC does not want to publicly come out and support the PLA killing thousands of innocent people. However deep down they are cheering for just that. The socialists have taken over government and media in Canada. Scary times indeed. I have to wonder what the school year is going to bring with Vancouver and so many Chinese and Hong Kong people there.

Pretty sick and twisted. People fighting for freedom potentially being slaughtered don't deserve your lame humor.

Devil's advocate here. It is indeed unfortunate that the British who initially negotiated the lease on HK with China never thought a hundred years would come to an end. Terribly inconvenient that China does, in fact, own Hong Kong. How is it we argue that we disinvolve ourselves in all but our selected foreign conflicts? I am certainly not arguing against democracy or freedom (far from it despite whatever deflections someone might want to come up with) but deciding to respect the sovereignty of other countries would include respecting the sovereignty of countries we might not always agree with on everything.

Indeed. Everybody would lose their poop if China started supporting Quebec separatist movement and arming them with weapons? But it's ok for us? LOL. We are the baddies in this.

No id be OK with Quebec packing up and breaking off. But that is not the topic here. We are talking about HK.

China has HK in her crosshairs. People are moving to Taiwan and money is moving to Singapore.
The best way for us here to fight this . Is for us to buy local .
China relies on exports.

That's not our fight. It's none of our business. It's strictly chinese matter.

We are not morally or otherwise superior beings who decide for other countries what they do inside of them.

100% of them will be all for victory if the dictator says so.
If you're a dictatorship (that's how I see China, simplistic I know), that's the beauty.

I haven't had the radio on for a while, but I the CBC is one news source I check.
I haven't found the front page without a Hong Kong story in days.
Anyway, I would think it's smart to know the players and their backers before hoisting their flag.

Over 100 days of protests already with no end in sight. Pray for liberation. Pray for Hong Kong.

President Trump needs to be strong for once. Knock China down a step or 3
