Biden’s Capital-Gains Tax Grab Would Wreak Havoc

This is among the most wrongheaded, poorly designed tax proposals in recent memory.

he last time the White House put Treasury secretary Janet Yellen in front of television cameras, she was tasked with defending a proposal to give the Internal Revenue Service cash-flow data on the bank accounts of virtually every American.

Asked about the scope of the reporting requirement, which would cover any account holding more than $600, Yellen said the low threshold would ensure that “individuals can’t game the system and have multiple accounts.” The prospect of a billionaire opening several thousand bank accounts to dodge taxes was ludicrous even to Yellen’s fellow Democrats.

71 Percent of Americans Say U.S. Is Going in Wrong Direction as Biden's Job Rating Dips: Poll

President Joe Biden's approval rating continued to decline as 71 percent of Americans believe the United States is on the wrong track, according to the latest NBC News poll released Sunday.

The study found that 42 percent of respondents approved of Biden's job performance, while 54 percent disapproved. This marks the first time an NBC poll has reported that Biden has underwater approval ratings since his election as president.

Among likely voters, his approval was not quite as low. Still, 52 percent disapproved of his job performance, while 45 percent said they approved of it.

His approval has dropped significantly over the past few NBC News polls. Its August poll found that 49 percent approved of his performance, while 48 percent disapproved. In April, 53 percent approved, while 39 percent disapproved.

A narrow majority of respondents said they still approve of how Biden has handled the COVID-19 pandemic, according to the poll. Fifty-one percent of respondents said they approved of his pandemic management, while 47 percent did not. These numbers are down from April when 69 percent said they approved of how he has managed the crisis.

Only 40 percent approved of how the president is handling the economy, while 57 percent disapproved, according to the poll.

Biden's drop in approval comes as more Americans feel that the United States is not on the right track. The poll found that 71 percent of respondents felt the U.S. was "off on the wrong track." Only 22 percent said the U.S. was headed in the right direction.

:spitcoffee: [icon_lol2.gif] Right wingers are so desperate that they have to invent lies, misinformation and half truths in order to maintain their minority rule. This is just another example......
There’s no evidence that this claim and the social media trend that sprang from it were based on anything other than idle gossip.

This claim wasn’t derived from photos or videos of Biden, or any credible news reports. This rumor appears to have been started (or at least popularized) by former Nevada Republican Party Chairwoman and frequent Newsmax guest Amy Tarkanian, who posted the following message to Twitter early on Oct. 30:

“The word around Rome is that Biden’s meeting with the Pope was unusually long because Biden had a bit of an ‘bathroom accident’ at the Vatican & it had to be addressed prior to him leaving. I know we joke often about this, but this is the actual rumor going around Rome now.”

An “actual rumor” is not a fact.

Pretty sure Biden having an accident with the Pope and standing at imaginary podiums clenching his fists did that.
