Clickbait and news slanted to get your attention.

Post by I Think »

Even the BBC does it.
This mornings lede article about the Biden Xi summit top paragraph calls Xi PRESIDENT. vs Mr Biden. see for your self.

"Chinese President Xi Jinping has used a virtual summit with US counterpart Joe Biden to warn................"

Even the picture used to head up the article shows President Xi Jinping at his golden podium surrounded by flags, while Joe appears to be sitting in an arm chair relaxing.

We must learn to recognize this kind of clickbait reporting, they do not care if they are wrong, they will forget all about it when the next issue arises. This one tries to make it look like Joe is being told to behave himself like a good subordinate.
We're lost but we're making good time.

Clickbait headlines have been used since the first newspaper went off the press - it's what sells because its what we buy.

Mr Biden said the two had "always communicated with one another very honestly and candidly," adding "we never walk away wondering what the other man is thinking".
As long as ice cream isn't the subject, no one really needs to wonder what or even whether Biden is thinking. He's just reading or saying whatever he's been told to.
