Re: Republicans
Racial discrimination in Canada and The States is a fact. While I am not a big fan of CRT we cannot move on without discussion on the subject. The small town I was born in in southern Ontario had a very racist past to the point a black person never spent a whole night in the town before 1970.

The point of my post was it is a mistake for a republican to think they can hide from the past. face it head on, deal with the changes and move on together . simple .The Straken wrote: ↑Jan 19th, 2022, 11:25 am Racial discrimination in Canada and The States is a fact. Great! CRT is not the way to do this though. No one is "hiding from the past" other than the idiots who continue to tear down statues.captkirkcanada wrote: ↑Jan 19th, 2022, 11:28 am

What do you mean? The Republicans are hiding from the "present", they have no trouble "hiding from the past".The Green Barbarian wrote: ↑Jan 19th, 2022, 11:47 amGreat! Re: Republicans
The problem with tearing down statues is that a violent act does not heal a racist wound.

That would be the effect of what happened from, lets say slavery to today.

Re: Republicans
No one alive today ever experienced slavery. Do you personally have experience in this area or is this just more victimhood garbage? The Straken wrote: ↑Jan 19th, 2022, 3:47 pm That would be the effect of what happened from, lets say slavery to today.

Re: Republicans
So your stand is that since you have never experienced slavery it does not exist. How ill informed can a person be?

Re: Republicans
As should be the stance of ever single person that hasn't experienced slavery because for a fun fact, history has pretty much been ran entirely on slavery, every single nation that has ever been in existence used some form of slavery and the reason was because it was and is extremely effective. Now think about one of the big three continents with the mass amount of slavery still going on. Africa.Dead right wrote: ↑Jan 19th, 2022, 5:44 pm So your stand is that since you have never experienced slavery it does not exist. How ill informed can a person be?
Black people still own other black slaves to this day. If you live in America, working at starbucks, living in your two bedroom condo, you have absolutely no idea what slavery is like and to say that you have "ancestors who struggled" is in fact taking away from all the accomplishments of ACTUAL civil rights activist while somehow comparing themselves to them, even though all these people do is sit on twitter and say they are at a disadvantage because of it, and you would like to support them I'm sure.
There's a reason why so many black people love Capitalism, love the opportunities they wouldn't be afforded EVER in their homeland and why so many are staunch Republicans. I garuntee you nearly every single one was raised as a Democrat, watched the exact same thing as many posters here say who claim to be for these people and then left the party they were raised with feeling disgusted that they had lied to them through and through.
People are waking up to the Republican side of things, and they always will smell the sewage from the other side. How ill informed can a person be indeed.
Half of the posters here sound like they would unironically say Latinx. That's the only thing you need to know.

Re: Republicans
When something is wrong the fact, it was done in the past does not make it right. Justifying an immoral act perpetuities the problem.
