NATO trying to grab Ukraine is what started this mess.

Ukraine joining NATO = automatic WW3 with nuclear arms.

Huh ?? more drivel. NATO did no such thing. Pure unadulterated nonsense.

After the punting of Russian friendly and corrupt governments, Zelenski was elected and he has attempted to get Ukraine back on track and join the EU for one. Not so much as joining NATO. Get it? Ukraine will ASK to join NATO, not the other way around as you seem to believe.
You will now note that it has to be a unanimous vote by other NATO members to allow another into the alliance.

NATO does, nor will not " grab" other countries. They are a reactionary force should any of the member countries are attacked.

Should sometime in the future, if there is anything left of the once soverghn country, Ukraine ask, yes ask, to join NATO, there will be some very serious conversations by other NATO members if acceptance is a good thing. I really doubt if NATO would consider NATO having Ukraine as a member.

Yes, that's why they have more military bases than any other countries combined, predominantly around Russia and China who never attacked them and have may be 5 bases between themselves.

Sure, not like on 2008 they said Ukraine and Georgia will become members. We all know what happened to Georgia and now we see the same happen to Ukraine. If NATO said they will stay neutral, none of this would happen.

Speaking of NATO, specifically news from NATO...

⚡️NATO appoints new Supreme Allied Commander in Europe.

U.S. Army General Christopher Cavoli - who speaks Russian and has a master’s degree from Yale in Russian studies - replaced General Tod Wolters of the U.S. Air Force who had been in post since 2019.

Here's some of the timeline outlining Ukraine's engagement with NATO to secure peace in the region.
- Dialogue and cooperation started when newly independent Ukraine joined the North Atlantic Cooperation Council (1991) and the Partnership for Peace programme (1994).
- Relations were strengthened with the signing of the 1997 Charter on a Distinctive Partnership, which established the NATO-Ukraine Commission (NUC) to take cooperation forward.
- Since 2009, the NUC has overseen Ukraine’s Euro-Atlantic integration process, including reforms under the Annual National Programme (ANP).
- Cooperation has deepened over time and is mutually beneficial, with Ukraine actively contributing to NATO-led operations and missions.
- Priority is given to support for comprehensive reform in the security and defence sector, which is vital for Ukraine’s democratic development and for strengthening its ability to defend itself.
Since the NATO Summit in Warsaw in July 2016, NATO’s practical support for Ukraine is set out in the Comprehensive Assistance Package (CAP) for Ukraine.
- In June 2017, the Ukrainian Parliament adopted legislation reinstating membership in NATO as a strategic foreign and security policy objective. In 2019, a corresponding amendment to Ukraine’s Constitution entered into force.
- In September 2020, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy approved Ukraine’s new National Security Strategy, which provides for the development of the distinctive partnership with NATO with the aim of membership in NATO.
In response to the Russia-Ukraine conflict, since 2014 NATO has reinforced its support for capability development and capacity-building in Ukraine. The Allies condemn and will not recognise Russia’s illegal and illegitimate annexation of Crimea, and its destabilising and aggressive activities in eastern Ukraine and the Black Sea region. NATO has increased its presence in the Black Sea and stepped up maritime cooperation with Ukraine and Georgia.
- NATO condemns Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine in the strongest possible terms. It gravely undermines international security and stability, and is a blatant violation of international law. NATO Allies call on Russia to stop the war immediately, withdraw all its forces from Ukraine and engage in genuine diplomacy.
- The Alliance condemns Russia’s decision to extend recognition to the self-proclaimed “people’s republics” in eastern Ukraine.
- NATO stands with the people of Ukraine and its legitimate, democratically elected president, parliament and government. The Alliance will always maintain its full support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine within its internationally recognised borders.

Anyways, in other news... A Ukrainian flag is flying over Snake Island. As it should be.

LOL nice fake picture.
The spokesperson for the Ukrainian Military’s Southern Command, 1st Capt. Natalia Humeniuk, said the country’s flag was dropped on Snake Island but has not yet been raised, clarifying earlier remarks regarding the status of the flag.
Wow. Such bravery - dropping something on an empty island out of a helicopter and getting the hell out of there.

That does not make any sense. There are 30 member countries in NATO and each country will have numerous military bases.

Around Russia and China?? now you are talking silly. The US and Canada are members of NATO, just how many bases do these two counties have ( the US has hundreds) and how many are near Russia? Define "around"

What does China have to do with NATO? My answer is nothing, what's your answer?

More daft statements... Russia and China have maybe 5 bases between themselves... [icon_lol2.gif]
Stop embarrassing yourself with the drivel you are presenting. I get it, you are rooting for Russia, but at least present some factual information.

"5 bases"

Meanwhile in the real world. Russia has 19 bases in Kalingingrad alone.

I thought it was a Russian communication center that was a continual target from Ukrainian drones or missiles. Now with new American multiple rocket launchers, they perhaps would be continually living in a bunker. Just leave is the best option.

Oh just me, parroting the propaganda with a side of snark. ( https://twitter.com/i/status/1543563659250638851 )

Yes, they were getting hit continually ( https://twitter.com/i/status/1542724944504754183 & https://twitter.com/i/status/1543226171491553285 ) and decided to get out while the getting was still good. I saw the video of Russia attempting to bomb the island after evacuation. It was comical, they were having a hard time hitting the island, forget about targets on it.

Video here: (sound down, if you know what's good for you) https://twitter.com/i/status/1542951057403305985

It's an easy target for anybody, really. They perhaps did not see any benefit of staying there, and I doubt Ukraine forces will move onto it either. At the end of the day, it's just a conveniently placed rock surrounded by water that requires big commitment to defend - you'd have to clear it the areas around it.

Ukraine troops with their flag dropping is just a PR stunt needed to prop up the huge losses they're suffering losing city after city while entire brigades surrendering in Donbas. Yay we dropped the flag! Let's not pay attention to 5,000 pows in just two cities...

Why thank you for sharing that, however obvious it might be.

While you're here, you could clear something up for me that doesn't seem so obvious. In your world, where democratically elected leaders are evil despots and dictators are attempting to bring peace and freedom to people by invading countries and threatening the use of nuclear weapons, is 19 still more than 5?
