If true, perhaps it was not "we" as you claim, but Ukraine defending itself after 8 months of Russian occupation and continual bombing of their cities and villages?

The US illegally invaded Iraq and "annexed" it for almost 20 years. Their excuse was self-defense. The US also did this in Syria where they still control areas of the country with US troops.

What if Russia decided to help Iraq from forgien invaders. After all the country that was invading Iraq was busy setting up torture camps in Guantanamo Bay. Literally.

So Russia steps in and funds the Iraqi resistance to the United States efforts in Iraq. United States starts losing thousands of troops and then starts taking hits to their International infrastructure.

- Russia assassinates a political leader inside the United States
- Russia calls for preemptive strikes against the United States
- Russia calls for regime change in the United States
- Russia pours tens of billions of dollars into killing Americans on Iraqi soil.

What do you think the United States would do and how long would it take them to be pushed into an outright war with Russia in such circumstances?
