Re: Ukraine war/President/news
Apparently they'll be doing so without Wagner PMC, so I guess they'll need to come up with another source of cannon fodder for Bakhmut. Personally, I think old Prigozhin isn't a dummy and simply sees the situation for what it is. Russian forces control an area on the map with no cover, no defensive positions and no where to run to once the ball starts rolling.gertlush wrote: ↑May 4th, 2023, 5:52 pm Bakhmut has fallen, the Ukrainians are clinging onto a cpl of klicks. They bought these extra months at ruinous expense.
The latest Russian strikes crippled any hope of a Ukie counter. That is why theyre going asymetric with the drone strikes, rail sabotage etc, all for the Twit(er) show.
Going forward - Russia will spend the next month consolidating positions and degrading Ukie positions with long range fires. June/July they will likely push foreward in the Kharkov direction and Donetsk city.
From Russian Telegram channels...
Here's the video, if you want to work on your Russian skills..."On May 10, 2023, we are forced to transfer positions to units of the Ministry of Defense."
Yevgeny Prigozhin announced that on May 10, the Wagner PMC was leaving Bakhmut due to lack of ammunition.
The main thing from his appeal:
"On March 16, when the NWO did not go according to plan, we were asked to help. On March 19, units arrived from Africa and immediately entered the battle from the wheels.
"We entered the most difficult place, the center of the fortified area of Popasna, and by May 9, 2022, we captured the settlement. Then, in order to save the army, which fled shamefully from Izyum and Krasny Liman, they occupied the front line for more than 130 kilometers and held back the onslaught of the enemy.
"On October 8, in order to give the army a break, to pull all the forces on itself, they launched Operation Bakhmut Meat Grinder. They showed success and a good result, from which some figures, near-military bureaucrats from the Ministry of Defense were crushed by a redneck, in Russian speaking.
"We received no more than 30% of the needs, so our losses were much higher than they should have been. A month ago, they stopped giving us ammunition and we get no more than 10%."
"We were going to capture Bakhmut by May 9. But seeing this, the near-military bureaucrats from May 1 actually stopped any supplies. They sit and shake their fat bellies and think that they will go down in history as winners.
"I officially inform the Chief of the General Staff, the Minister of Defense, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief: my guys will not bear losses in Bakhmut, useless and unjustified, without ammunition. From May 10, we are leaving Bakhmut "
- "We have to take 2.5 kilometers out of 45. But if, because of your petty envy, you don't want to give victory to the Russians, that's your problem."
"We are waiting for an order to leave Bakhmut. Until the 9th, despite the fact that we have almost run out of ammunition, we will remain in Bakhmut so as not to shame the brilliance of Russian weapons on this sacred holiday. Then we will go to the rear camps."
"We will wait until the people of Russia need us again. I think it's about to happen. Because you are not able to control what you have been put on."

I'll believe it when I see it. Last week he said the Ukie counter-attack has started. He's a notorious internet troll, take him with a grain of salt.
Why would the Ukrainians counter-attack in Bakhmut btw? Goes against all military logic... oh, ya, maybe it is possible then

Meh, hard to say. Someone believes in the guy, because for an ex-con with extensive experience handling hot dogs he's made it quite far in Russian society. It's possible Nikolai Patrushev is the power that placed "Putin's Chef" and perhaps he's finally making his move. Don't get me wrong, Nikolai Patrushev won't ever be anything other than the puppet master, but his son Dmitry is a well positioned banker and politician who could be easily handled by the powers that be.gertlush wrote: ↑May 5th, 2023, 2:28 pm I'll believe it when I see it. Doesn't look good for Putin's military establishment, that much is for sure.
Why Bakhmut? It's a proven meat grinder and an obvious place to draw in and tie up Russian reserves. There's some Russian ego invested in it. While there was little strategic value to Russia pushing north into Bakhmut, there's considerable value to Ukrainians pushing south. The whole Russian supply line south of Dnipro falls into jeopardy and becomes even more fragile than it currently is.
Could also just be a feint in an attempt to embolden Ukrainians working Bakhmut too. (I think we'll know soon enough.)
Somethings about to break, the signs are all there. Fuel is being cut off, ammo is being cut off, news flow is being cut off and somewhere out there are some major reconditioned forces ready to enter the fight.
The Kherson curfew seems to be all about a Police action (SBU) to round up Russian assets still operating in the city - so far.
Kerch Bridge is currently shut down to personal vehicle traffic, the ferry has been shut down and trucks are facing increased security at the moment. There's chatter amongst the Russian chatter'ers (doubt that's a word, but it's late) that there's a slow speed evacuation going on in 18 villages around the occupied Zaporizhzhia region. Empty buses for as far as the eye can see lined up in Berdiansk heading in.
In other war related traffic stopping news, this is interesting...

Europe's largest nuclear power generating plant is located there. Russians are or were occupying the plant not long after the war started.Drip_Torch wrote: ↑May 5th, 2023, 3:13 pm There's chatter amongst the Russian chatter'ers (doubt that's a word, but it's late) that there's a slow speed evacuation going on in 18 villages around the occupied Zaporizhzhia region. So, what do the Russians have in mind if they are evacuating people?
I truly hope it's not some twisted retribution for their own shortcomings and just an evacuation if the area is the target for Ukraine's maybe spring offensive.

The Russians occupied the plant for months and have linked it to their grid. Yet for some reason Western media keeps running stories like "Russia shelling nuke plant". Just more crazy Russians attacking their own troops I guess.
If you look past page 1 google results you'll see theyre noticing a Ukie troop buildup opposite this region so yeah, evac the civilians in case Ukraine attacks.
Could you post up Wagner guys next video too? You know, the one where he says Ukraine send 500-600 troops into Bakhmut each day, and they eliminate them each day?

It's a curious thing. Here's the list;seewood wrote: ↑May 6th, 2023, 7:15 amEurope's largest nuclear power generating plant is located there. Timoshovka, Smirnovo, Tarasovka, Orlyanskoe, Molochansk, Kuibyshevo, Prishib, Tokmak, Malaya Belozerka, Vasilyevka, Velikaya Belozerka, Dneprorudnoe, Mikhailovka, Kamenka-Dneprovskaya, Energodar, Canopies, Horse Discord, Rozovka.
It appears to be an area east of Enerhodar, where the NPP is located and Enerhodar isn't on that list? So, one could safely assume it's not NPP related, I would hope. Perhaps another "good will gesture", or glorious advance backwards in the making, to consolidate some lines?
I honestly don't have any ideas, but it's something I'm keeping an eye on.

Why would I use Google, when there's Yandex? I keep hearing about these big losses in Bakhmut and while I have no doubt the Ukrainians are facing a tough fight there, I just don't see the losses you keep trying to project. Matter of fact, I see a number of people that have been injured, gone for treatment and returned to the lines. I've seen some awfully big funerals for those that have been lost, but I also see people, I feel like I've come to know over the last 8 months, that are alive and thriving. (Well, at least as much as any human possibly could under those circumstances.)gertlush wrote: ↑May 6th, 2023, 9:40 am The Russians occupied the plant for months and have linked it to their grid. We both know history will be written by the victorious and I would suggest to you if you want to read it, you should start learning some Ukrainian. I could hook you up with a girl in Kyiv who is giving online lessons everyday - if you want.

Yeah, where are all those casualties? Who the hell knows...
Fun facts:
1. At some point, they wanted to make it illegal to film cemeteries. Just like it's illegal to film and upload explosions and missile strikes in Ukraine. Cause you know...bad publicity and goes against what Ukranian propaganda tells us.
2. Whoever makes Ukranian flags is making a lot of money. How do I get in on that? That's a licence to print money.

Propaganda for all of the Wests wars must be strict and total.WASHINGTON — In a reversal of an 18-year-old military policy that critics said was hiding the ultimate cost of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, the news media will now be allowed to photograph the flag-draped coffins of America's war dead as their bodies are returned to the United States, but only if the families of the dead agree.

The evacuation of Melitopol is interesting. Civilian vehicles can't cross the Kerch Bridge, and haven't been able to for a couple days now, trucks are slow (very slow) and screened carefully, but military vehicles and some trucks have a special pass and lane to travel in.
Aren't they all going the wrong way? Or, did the war move to Russia and no one bothered to tell me?

Update your favourites...
As of May 10th the Kadyrovites will be taking over for Wagner in Bakhmut. Logistically, this make perfect sense for the Russians because the Akhmat's don't need much ammunition, only a place to charge their iphones. To stay up-to-date on the Bakhmut situation you'll need to change from Telegram to TikTok.
