Re: Manhunt
This manhunt ended when he crashed his stolen car. But look at the one thing in common he has with our famous SK former prisoner, they've both violent offenders let out of prison. There had to be several more victims until someone will decide to lock him up forever.

Re: Manhunt
Moscow, Idaho is the center of the most gripping and chilling crime in Idaho, if not the Western States, ever. The crux of the grisly deaths of four young students, well documented by many news sources, is that that there is no suspect. No trail. Thousands of tips have lead to ... nothing so far.
Countless hours have been devoted to this horrific crime. Those whom have been ruled out are the two surviving roommates, the ex boyfriend and the guy who drove the four home.
What is really shocking is that the roommates thought the murdered people were unconscious, and instead of calling 911 immediately call up a bunch of friends, all of whom came over and added to the DNA mess in the home. Who does that? Indeed, who does that?
But only now has a new theory arrived, someone within their "sphere" may be their killer.
Someone likely so driven by jealousy, rage and derangement that they actually thought that the deaths of these people were some answer.

Re: Manhunt
Wow, this manhunt may or may not be over but the Idaho Police, under great pressure have a suspect. I found it interesting that the RCMP even went down South to lend a hand, evoking images of that show of the Mountie in the States. I dare hope our Canadian presence and assistance had a hand in nailing a suspect. This murder of four young students has gripped the families, the uni town of Moscow, Idaho and campuses all over the States. Let's hope they have it right in this arrest.

A suspect was taken into custody in connection with the investigation into the murders of four University of Idaho students, two federal law enforcement sources confirmed to CNN on Friday.
The arrest in the fatal stabbing case was made by the FBI in northeastern Pennsylvania, the sources said.
One source described the suspect as a man in his 20s and told CNN the arrest took place Friday morning.
The Moscow Police Department in Idaho said it will hold a news conference Friday at 1 p.m. local time (4 p.m. ET) to announce developments in the investigation.

Re: Manhunt
Suspect named but is the manhunt over? Fair trial and all that.

Arrest paperwork filed in Monroe County Court said Bryan Christopher Kohberger, 28, was being held for extradition to Idaho on a warrant for first degree murder.
A law enforcement official confirmed the arrest to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the official could not publicly discuss details of the investigation ahead of a formal announcement expected later Friday.
A Ph.D. student by the same name is listed in the Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology at Washington State University, which is a short drive across the state line from the University of Idaho. Messages seeking more information were left for officials at WSU. DeSales University in Pennsylvania confirmed that a student by that name received a bachelor’s degree in 2020 and completed graduate studies in June 2022
Authorities narrowed their focus to Idaho suspect after tracing ownership of white car and DNA
From CNN's John Miller
Authorities narrowed their focus to suspect Bryan Kohberger — who was arrested on a first-degree murder warrant in connection with the killings of four University of Idaho students, according to documents and sources — after tracing his ownership of the white Hyundai Elantra seen in the area of the homicides, according to two law enforcement sources briefed on the investigation.
Kohberger’s DNA has also been matched to DNA recovered at the scene of the deaths, according to the sources.
Authorities discovered he had left the area and gone to Pennsylvania, the sources said.
An FBI surveillance team from the Philadelphia Field Office had been tracking him for four days in the area where he was arrested, according to the sources.
He was kept under surveillance while investigators from the Moscow Police Department, the Idaho State Police homicide bureau and the FBI worked with prosecutors to develop sufficient probable cause to obtain the warrant.
Once the arrest warrant was issued, the FBI and Pennsylvania State Police were able to make the arrest.

That was an horrific crime.
I've been following it since it happened. Way too much criticism of the police for not arresting someone sooner, like within days of the murders. Too many people watching police dramas on TV and expecting arrests within a ridiculous short time period.

Re: Manhunt
Interesting how they used ancestor DNA to track him down. I do wonder if he knows any of the roommates. I say that because the roommates called friends over after the crime thinking four murdered people were "sleeping." I am going with "they called people over to muddy the DNA trial for the investigators."
https://www.cnn.com/2023/01/01/us/bryan ... index.html
Genetic genealogy techniques were used to connect Kohberger to unidentified DNA evidence, another source with knowledge of the case told CNN. The DNA was run through a public database to find potential family member matches, and subsequent investigative work by law enforcement led to his identification as the suspect, the source said.
LaBar confirmed Kohberger, accompanied by his father, had driven from Idaho to Pennsylvania to celebrate the holidays with his family. A white Hyundai Elantra was found at his parents’ home, LaBar said, where authorities apprehended Kohberger early Friday.

Re: Manhunt
Yes, he is presumed innocent. But I do not believe for a minute he did this crime alone. Just suspicious old me is thinking that his first question to authorities was, "am I the only one arrested?" Why is that? Why did the roommates invite people over immediately after waking up and going in the rooms of the murdered and assuming they were sleeping? That's the story right? They invited people over to investigate if the roommates were sleeping or what? Nope, I'll bet the guy is realizing he's going down alone if he doesn't give up whom he was working with.

Now the authorities are thoroughly examining the arrested guys electronics, paperwork, notes, and anything else in his apartment looking for anything incriminating. I am guessing there are wiped out things linking the crime to the roommates. To be able to come so easily into the house, know the lay out, and get out? Without having been there before? ya right.

I knew they had to get HIS DNA and this is how they did it. Watching him clean his car and going after the trash he left in neighbour's garbage cans to get DNA from the gloves he used to clean his car.

The guy was asked to allow a baby to sleep, now he's wishing he could just go have a drink at the bar.
Manhunt for a murderer who killed five next door. Even the door bell cam caught him coming over with the gun, so there are lots of photos. "Could be anywhere", well that's what was said of every other person they're looking for.
