Decrease anesthesia during surgery to fight climate?
It is amazing what is 'on the table' as far as emission reduction goes, and what the climate-sensitive are willing to risk. Perhaps a slight reduction is plausible, but one can imagine the lawsuits if not successfully executed.

Research notes that inhaled anesthesia accounts for up to 0.1% of the world’s carbon emissions, which are regarded as the primary driver of global climate change. An hour of surgery using an inhaled anesthetic is equivalent to driving as many as 470 miles, according to a 2010 study.

Looks like they started working on solutions by 2012:
Though since these guidelines came out June 2022 why did it take so long for us to just start hearing about it?
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/22492186/Our results reiterate previous published data on the GHG effects of these inhaled drugs, while providing a life cycle context. There are several practical environmental impact mitigation strategies. Desflurane and nitrous oxide should be restricted to cases where they may reduce morbidity and mortality over alternative drugs. Clinicians should avoid unnecessarily high fresh gas flow rates for all inhaled drugs. There are waste anesthetic gas capturing systems, and even in advance of reprocessed gas applications, strong consideration should be given to their use. From our results it appears likely that techniques other than inhalation anesthetics, such as total i.v. anesthesia, neuraxial, or peripheral nerve blocks, would be least harmful to the environment.

Solutions to problems that don't exist. Amazing.
There's no such thing as gay rights, minority rights, trans rights or women's rights.
There are only individual rights. Either we all have the same rights, or we're just groups of special interests fighting for preferential treatment.

Seems there may be bigger problems to deal with first, like controlling the amount of excess fuel coming out of Bic lighters.

You can thank Justin Trudeau for that. He increased the number of stoners sparking up their bowls and thus is causing the deaths of billions of children due to man made climate change.Dead right wrote: ↑Feb 6th, 2023, 12:37 pm Seems there may be bigger problems to deal with first, like controlling the amount of excess fuel coming out of Bic lighters.
The Klimate Kooks are so mentally unstable that it's shocking they can feed themselves in the morning.

A truly compassionate government would set up a Senate sub committee to create a self igniting bong that would reduce gas consumption while maximising air flow and temperature control.

Damn, that just leaves me shaking my head.
Please don't let the feds clue into this or we'll see ridiculous restrictions on us, agin to them wanting farmers to decrease fertilizer volumes.
The world us going crazy.
