Aren't those safety devices et al because we don't know how to properly drive anymore? At least with the emissions controls we are seeing less particulate pollution ...Jlabute wrote: ↑Mar 28th, 2023, 4:17 pmIt is also government pushing for safety features, computerized emissions controls, air bags, smart features and cameras etc. These legislated features add huge costs to every vehicle. Then there are EVs… the doubly expensive vehicle that only the rich can afford. Governments push too hard to steal our earnings.
As for price, when I get an EV I plan to spend what I can afford ... found some used Leafs for around $20k ... though my wife wants to get a Genesis

Good luck in 10 years or less when your Leaf expires and the mechanic wants $25k for a new battery...

There are only individual rights. Either we all have the same rights, or we're just groups of special interests fighting for preferential treatment.

Considering I live in a 15-minute city I doubt the length of time stated ...The Green Barbarian wrote: ↑Mar 28th, 2023, 5:25 pmGood luck in 10 years or less when your Leaf expires and the mechanic wants $25k for a new battery...

By this point, only a fool believes buying an EV is actually good for the environment.

So a 6 or 7 year old leaf with a limited battery warranty left? Thankfully the resale prices are low. A 30kwh battery which is likely down to 70% capacity if it is 7 years old. I’d rather get the genesis too! You’re wife is smarter, hehe. So long as it is not an EV, she’s making a good choice. I would had done the G70 if the wife didn’t pick something else.spooker wrote: ↑Mar 28th, 2023, 5:24 pmAren't those safety devices et al because we don't know how to properly drive anymore? yeah it's probably less than 10 years actually, even with living in a 15 minute gulag.spooker wrote: ↑Mar 28th, 2023, 6:50 pmConsidering I live in a 15-minute city I doubt the length of time stated ...The Green Barbarian wrote: ↑Mar 28th, 2023, 5:25 pm
