Imposter police officer
https://www.castanet.net/news/BC/328734 ... Westbridge
This is more disturbing after the shootings in Nova Scotia last year
However I wonder if this could have been a Conservatiion Officer. The truck also matches their description and there have been a few of them patrolling the area in recent weeks.
Either way,
I thought some people would like to know,
While driving past the Midway RCMP office reguarly I haven't actually seen a white truck pickup at this time, although they have a couple marked white SUV's.
Plus 1 unmarked black SUV.
Oh, plus your cellphone doesn't work between Westbridge and the straight section south of Beaverdell.
This is basically a 30 minute dead zone. I imagine the best thing to do is pull over and if the vehicle is white watch to see if the door has markings on it.
If not I think I would lock the doors, roll up the windows, use your instincts and prepare to drive on safely until you are in cell range if needed.
Of course don't speed or give them a reason to give you a ticket.
If it is a real officer just tell them why you proceded and I don't think you would get in trouble with this fellow around
If you are on Bell / Telus your cellphone should work from Westbridge to just past Midway or all the way into Osoyoos.

Re: Imposter police officer
First thought - predator is on the loose up there looking to abduct someone.
I won't be pulling over for any cop up there for awhile.
Be careful

Re: Imposter police officer
If a Conservation Officer was conducting a traffic stop in this manner, and the subject vehicle took off, would the CO not immediately notify RCMP? If such was the case this would have all been sorted out pretty quickly I think. Not to mention, that apparently this driver briefly exited his vehicle, presumably at the instruction of the "officer". He would have identified himself as a Conservation Officer at that time I would think.stuphoto wrote:https://www.castanet.net/news/BC/328734 ... Westbridge

Re: Imposter police officer
All I know is that some people here have been informed not to stop under any circumstances until they are in a bright and public place.
However the police also know most of the locals, so they may treat us differently than anyone just passing through.
Why bother chasing someone if you can just visit them at home, work or in the coffee shop.

This is actually scary. The woman was pulled over for a "sobriety check" and as soon as the fake cop shone his light on the passenger seat and noticed that the woman was not alone, he basically said, "oops, sorry, carry on."
"No one has the right to apologize for something they did not do, and no one has the right to accept an apology if the wrong was not done to them."

Re: Imposter police officer
Got to wonder what is this individuals reason and endgame of this impersonation of a police officer.

I don't give a damn whether people/posters like me or dislike me, I'm not on earth to win any popularity contests.

There are some real gems on Youtube.mexi cali wrote:This is one of them. There are a few.
I've been following the story of this guy for quite some time. Jereme Dewitte out of Florida became famous recently, even went on Dr. Phil:
And then there's this cool video:

I had to drive out to the Kootenays this weekend and I avoided 33 completely.
Until they catch the person I am staying away from banjo country.
