CIBC.
Spent over an hour waiting to talk to someone in order to set up my wife's account for their Costco card.
Finally got through, almost 45 minutes to set it up.

Now I'm getting letters and emails for my card, Please activate your new card.
We never received it.
Tried calling and hung up after being on hold for 15 minutes.
Talked to Costco about it, Yes, its been a gong show with CIBC.

MEH, I'll use my Westjet MC from now on.
Screw CIBC.

had a similar experience. But had to tough it out as I need this new card to shop at Costco. What I hate is that I deliberately get an MBNA or Capital One card (what's in your wallet?) so that I have some autonomy from the big Canadian bank credit cards, and these MBNA and Capital One guys always end up creating a customer list and then selling it off to a big bank. MBNA and Capital One have both done this to me twice now - MBNA is now TD Bank and Capital One is CIBC. They did this in the mid 2000's too.

I expect in a few months I will get an application for the "new Capital One Card" and the new "MBNA Card" as both companies start up on day one after their non-competes expire and off they go again, getting suckers like me to sign up again. Anyway, I had no choice with Capital One, if I wanted a Costco credit card I had to go through Capital One. Let's hope Costco doesn't jump ship from CIBC but wouldn't be surprised, given how awful the customer service is at the big banks.

Too often people will ramble on and on and make no sense at all. A sentence here makes sense, the next sentence, if you can call it that..........? :135:
What are they talking about?
Are they hitting the bong?

But what I have noticed is that most are women.

Ahh, I should have known.

Try opening a bottle of vitamin C for a test of your goodwill towards all mankind (peoplekind, sorry]

The outer edges are sealed like a magnet around the rim of the bottle. After cutting off your thumb trying to slice through the hard plastic, you finally open the cap

Only to find another layer of irritatingly difficult to remove, vacuum sealed plastic with a pullup tab that no one with arthritic fingers can possibly lift.

Find a sharper knife to slice top off, together with opposing thumb that was previously blood free.

Who the hell designs these things? Have they ever tried to break into these hideous package sealings themselves…or has their mother??? And I know she’s give him such a smack upside his ear.
Sufficiently advanced incompetence is indistinguishable from malice. There’s a certain point at which ignorance becomes malice, at which there is simply no way to become THAT ignorant except deliberately and maliciously.

Me too ! [icon_lol2.gif]

Bought something I needed in the shop and was sealed with an adult-proof hard plastic weld.
Was told by the clerk that it would fit my application, before I paid for it.

Great !

---

Got it back to the shop, took it to center ring like a UFC champ; cuts, slashes and blood spraying all over the place like a scene from Dexter - and finally got it open, just to find out it DIDN'T fit !

Hour out of my way for second time; take it back to the retailer, then was told I couldn't return it because the package was damaged. :135:

--

Solution:

Two minutes of my bloodshot eyes staring them back in the eyes - in dead silence,
no body movement, not a flinch.

-

Conclusion?

They blinked. [icon_lol2.gif]
