Best way to clean pine sap off car?
Our neighbors have some big ole pines that seem to be able to throw sap a surprising distance onto our cars.
Have tried a bunch of off the shelf cleaning products but none have been particularly successful at removing it. Does anyone have recommendations for how to get this off without damaging the paint finish?

I remember as kid my dad would use Coca-Cola (that would be original coke) to remove both road tar & black oil used to keep the dust down on dirt roads.
It may or may not work on pine sap

Acrysol works wonders and won't harm paint finish.

Rub bacon fat on it for a minute or two with your finger, works like magic.

Thanks for the suggestions - will have to break out the hand sanitizer and see how it goes.

What about Coconut Oil?
>Other Uses for Coconut Oil (http://wakeup-world.com/2012/03/02/160-uses-for-coconut-oil/)
...152. Goo Gone – just mix equal parts coconut oil and baking soda into a paste. Apply to the “sticky” area and let it set for a minute. Then scrub off with an old toothbrush or the scrubby side of a sponge.

I would be careful using a toothbrush or scrubby sponge on a cars paint.

Peanut Butter - smooth, not crunchy.

Used WD40 before, works good. Clean it off after with soapy water.
Butter works great to remove sap from your hands, imagine that's along the same lines as the bacon fat suggestion.
