Just wondering if all the warm weather helped your peppers along, lady tehma?

My tomatoes suck. I never should have moved them. The one I left in last year's spot is doing great. So do my peppers but I crowded them. The one kale plant I have took over.

I have a monster butternut vine that is just producing female flowers. I am having to hand pollinate though. I'm hoping to finally grow a successful squash that isn't a zucchini.

I finally got around to thinning my bell peppers tonight. I bet I took off a thousand blossoms. They'll bulk up fast now.
I always take all the blossoms off the tips. I grow the peppers under the canopy so they don't sunburn and the plant can support them without being top heavy.
I leave just enough flowers on so I can continue harvesting and later in the season I can choose the last keepers and take the rest off and just leave the peppers that will mature that season. Come later in the season I take off any pepper that won't have time to mature.
I usually get 5 to 9 big peppers per plant per season.
I'm a bit behind on pruning and thinning tho.
Too busy all the time.

I pruned the suckers off the ambrosias today.
The corns maturing faster than we can eat it. Already starting to blanch and freeze it.
Got monster taters. One tonight made a meal for two.
I have so many cucumbers I can't even pick them fast enough.
I had a blank spot on the berm around a freshly planted juniper. I needed sone ground cover so I planted about 40 cucumbers.
Not sure if that was wise.

Did you plant pickling cukes? Or english-style eating cukes? I'd have put pickling cukes in and made pickles. I have a great relish recipe if you want to use some of those up . . .

Coming along great. They've taken over the back fence as planned.

My sunflowers are attracting chickadees and Gold Finches and sparrows of all sorts. Got lots of pix for fb.

My butternut is finally getting it's butt in gear. I'm hoping to be up to my eyeballs in squashes soon.
