I can steer you straight on your Bolivian rainbow.
They're an awesome plant.
It's actually a perennial, planted outdoors in Canada tho it's an annual.
I assume yours is indoors right now.
Gonna be breaking dormancy any time now.
Get it in a southern window.
Don't give it any fertilyzer yet.
Keep it moist and let it slightly dry between waters, but not continually dry.
Full sun .
Give me a call or pm we can chat.

Penticton is having a Seedy Saturday already!
Wish it wasn't snowing, I would drive down just to make it a day drive. But that would not be stopping those of you down South of Kelowna.

March 1 is the beginning of Yard Waste pick-up.
It is amazing how people abuse this service. Putting in things that should not be in there. Plastic, rocks, and all kinds of stuff that is routinely found and has to be dug out. Absolutely disgusting.
Anyways, here it is again.

This year I am putting irrigation in my garden beds. So, of course, the snow won't go.
I haven't failed until I quit.

Definition of "resilient": a robin still singing in a snowstorm that has no end in sight.
Sigh
Sigh
Sufficiently advanced incompetence is indistinguishable from malice. There’s a certain point at which ignorance becomes malice, at which there is simply no way to become THAT ignorant except deliberately and maliciously.

The Greenery is open now - I am torn about going in. I want to, but I can't buy anything until it warms up some . . .
I haven't failed until I quit.

You're braver than I am.
I do have all manners of bulbs coming up and 25 Snowdrops have been blooming for a long time now. I lifted leaves out of the gardens and found large earthworms underneath.
This year my goal is early peas. When is too early for peas? I hear they like the cold, well, is it too cold now?

Re: Gardening 2018
You can do the peas now I would think. I found it wasn’t so much the cold as how wet the soil was in the cold. Really soaking wet soil and very cold overnight temperatures always caused uneven growth.
I’m SO jealous you can see your soil. I still have over a foot of snow everywhere. My small dogs still can’t see over the drifts. I’m sure it will disappear eventually but waiting is hard.
I went to the Greenery opening day. Primulas and tiny violas (I plant them in teacups) came home with me.

I still have to lift a great many leaves out of the gardens yet. Right now they are so wet and heavy I am hoping todays sun will dry them a bit.
I plan to have a good pea crop this year instead of suffering from indecision.
