^^^ What I find so awesome is the joinery. The making of the joints without gaps or screw-ups.
When I figure out how to post pics I have a few to add. Definitely I'm not in the fine woodwork category, however appreciate those that can. Maybe someday....

Re: Strictly Woodwork
This is the start of tomorrow's project. This will be 1 of two more stools.
What you see is the seat of the larger 1.
Solid Maple 1 inch thick, stretchers, frame, and legs will be solid White Oak. Maybe, the smaller one will have a ribbon of Dark Walnut.
It doesn't look like much tonight, but wait and see how they turn out.

I usually just clear coat my hardwood projects, I like the natural look of the wood.
I also have a chopping block on the go, I will publish a photo later today as it sits today.

One stool seat out of the clamps.
The chopping block, but it cracked from the humidity change from outside to inside. I will have to fix that before finishing. The legs have been milled. Now the joinery starts, but I have something to do tomorrow........well maybe I will do it this afternoon.
I had some more real short scraps, so they will be in clamps by tonight.
Another one in the clamps.

Re: Strictly Woodwork
I used to get into the pioneer designs and joinery that was done in that period (mid to late 1800's here) and had a hallstand fall off a trailer onto 97. Broke the glass naturally and left a few character scrapes on the old salvaged fir. Didn't come apart though. That one had treenail construction which was used a lot in post and beam, shipbuilding and furniture to fasten components together. Fun stuff.seewood wrote:^^^ What I find so awesome is the joinery. Okay, here you go.
2 stool seats waiting for varnish.
1 cheese board to be trimmed, eased, final sanding and oil.
and
1 chopping block complete.
Now, on to building the legs and bases for the two stools.

Sufficiently advanced incompetence is indistinguishable from malice. There’s a certain point at which ignorance becomes malice, at which there is simply no way to become THAT ignorant except deliberately and maliciously.

Use this to reduce pictures - it's easy to use and you can choose the size of reduction want/need. It's the one I use.seewood wrote:Now, just have to figure out how to reduce the size ands I might be able to post pics...
https://resizeimage.net/
Here's what it'll look like when open - easy to upload the image then you scroll down to size then at the bottom of the screen you'll find resize image and save image tool buttons

Re: Strictly Woodwork
Been spending, off and on, the better part or two hours and no love.
Went to resizeimage and get close. Get my image to come up then drag to a smaller size ( cropped) and go through the prompts and no change, actually when I open it is huge.???
Perhaps if there is a 10 year old around, I'll get them to show me.
Tried this and comes back file is too big.alanjh595 wrote:Test.......
