I've been trying to process this all day. This one hits really hard - such a special player and person and a favorite of Flames fans, myself included.
To be taken from their loved ones in such a senseless way makes it even worse. So incredibly tragic and sad for the family, I cannot imagine what they are going through. RIP Johnny and Matthew and condolences to their family and friends.

I wonder if Carey Price would make a good goalie coach, his playing career is over.

First draft for top 5 goalies each decade. Any feedback (especially for recent decades)?

Now it turns out Johnny's wife Meredith is pregnant with their third child. So that's both families who will have children born without fathers as Johnny's brother's wife is also pregnant.

I’d go with the goalie/s that won a Stanley Cup on your list in each decade.

It’s early in the new season, I am hoping Edmonton isn’t planning repeat performance of last season of “X” many losses before going on a winning streak.

If last nights game is any indication then yes they may just do that, they should be able to beat there next opponent Chicago.

3 games into the new season and Edmonton hasn’t won, there goals for are 3 and goals against is 15.
Will they match last year’s losing streak or beat it, time will tell.

I think leave Carey where he is. He doesn't need stress in his world. :130: Just my thoughts.

He has 7.5 million dollars in salary ($2m base, $5.5m signing bonus) to collect for 2024-25 and 2025-26. I am sure he will sit and wait until the contract runs out, before moving on to the next stage of his career. I am not even sure if he can coach and collect LTIR money at the same time.

Jets start the season 5-0!! Big win over Pittsburgh today.

EDIT - as this is the NHL thread, I obviously meant the Winnipeg Jets, not NY Jets. In a weird coincidence, the NFL Jets were also playing Pittsburgh yesterday too. The NFL Jets, unlike the NHL Winnipeg Jets, got totally pounded by Pittsburgh lol...

If Ovechkin wants to get the all time scoring title from WG he will need to get going, 1 goal every 4 games. He will be pushing 50 years old.

Gordie Howe scored 44 goals when he was 40, the 3rd highest in his career, so don't count Ovechkin out yet...
