As an avid practitioner of the shooting sports, I am committed to preserving its legacy for coming generations. As a physician, I have made a lifetime commitment to saving lives. I have personally and professionally experienced the effects of the illegal and suicidal use of firearms. I support only reasonable and thoughtful approaches to curbing injury and death due to firearms. This petition and the call for a ban are neither.

Not usually allowed in smallbore matches, depends on organizer. The 17 may be too powerful for many steel targets, causing damage and possible ricochet issues. Even the 22mag is usually not allowed.

Seems the only winners will be the gun smugglers. Rates just likely doubled for them. At least someone will benefit. I guess the common thief wins too. He may live out his years with less to worry about.

The sales of restricted long guns and handguns has exploded across Canada with the advent of C71. Folks who never considered are now buying as they realize a freedom may be removed from them in the near future.

I kinda overspent on house repairs this year, but if I hadn't I would have bought several restricted firearms given the government's attitudes around banning.

I already got those... it's funny that they are so much easier to get in Canada and for half the price is the US because we are more friendly about arms from Russia.

SKS are great gravel yard guns. You can field strip them with a dime and a bullet. Built to last. Just avoid the corrosive ammo.

More bs from Bill Blair. Says black rifles are for hunting people. They are just black rifles. Seldom used in crimes. Sawed off shotgun is more common. Cheaper. Etc.

These black rifles run from 800 dollars for cheap Turkish gun to many thousands for a quality American made AR15 or similar.

There are plenty of non restricted black rifles as well. I have no idea what Bill Blair is poppin off about
