Does your local club satisfy what you are after in being a member?
Why did you join?
What could they do different ?

Do you care enough about your interests to join a club to give support ?

It all depends on how passionate you are about fish and wildlife issues and whether or not you want to do anything about it. A lot of people sign up with these clubs because they need a range in order to own firearms(handguns). They do not care much about fish and wildlife issues. The club I am involved with has a reputation for sponsoring and being involved directly in wildlife management and habitat restoration projects and that means a lot to me.

My club does. I must admit - I don't participate nearly as much as I should, but I'm really proud of everything the involved members are doing for the members and the community as a whole.

Joined an outdoors club a few years back, they really didn't do much for me(Indoor pistol range was only open once or twice a week and their outdoor range was closed all winter). Joined a different one last year. Open year round and no issues with getting there. Much better.

nice to have options within an hour drive. There is a good variety of disciplines if a guy shops around
some clubs are just duds too
