"Mark Nguyen took one of the initial photos of a SUV lying on its side next to the rock."

What....? Too funny.

It would definitely be interesting to find out what was distracting those drivers so much they did watch the area carefully enough ...

Although I can't seem to be able to open the link, I will comment;

I am in favour of placing big jagged boulders in places that may cause damage to the unwary
and incompetent in the stead of continual damage to ones landscape and/or property.

I saw the pics and it made me think.... some of these folks must have also hit fire hydrants.

Considering how many vehicles I see parked on sidewalks in neighbourhoods and storefronts that have AB plates, this does not surprise me. Instead of moving it, they should put a façade around it of a Tim Horton's take-out cup and turn it into an altar for worship.

They should be getting rid of some driver's licenses instead of the rock. Why blame the rock when all it did was expose some drivers who shouldn't be on the road?

Should never have been placed there for obvious reasons and is going to be removed. Yes, it can appear as comical but damage and insurance costs are not worth the reason it was placed there.

Again....I have seen just as many moronic drivers with BC plates. Idiot drivers are not isolated to one province, as you would imply.

It would be interesting to see if the rock is visible as you drive up to the turn. Having said that they shouldn't be driving over the curb to enter the parking lot in the first place.

There are a few spots in Kelowna where if there is a vehicle exiting as you want to enter and there is not a lot of room to do either at the same time.

Poor design is evident all over.

Bunch of people had a rocky start to the day, but I'm assuming some of the drivers got stoned.

These sidewalk parkers might be decent drivers. I'm not criticizing their driving, just their parking habits and disregard for pedestrian corridors. It's as though curbs are but minor inconveniences... urban 4x4-ing?
