Someone snagged them before I could see what they even were, ad deleted.

I'm reading Neal Stephenson's REAMDE - now I am a speed reader and can devour novels in a weekend. I've been working on this one for a month because his writing always makes me stop and think. Trying to follow the plot, figure out what just happened.

I polished off Jodi Taylor's "And Argumentation of Historians", love her! https://www.amazon.com/Argumentation-Historians-Chronicles-Marys-Book/dp/1597809349

I found The Good Earth trilogy by Pearl S. Buck cheap on Amazon about a week ago and I remembered my grandma reading The Good Earth and really liking it. I just finished the first book and it's been a fun experience. I'll be reading along and think something like, "I wonder what grandma thought about that!"

I'm zipping my way through The Road by Cormac McCarthy (also wrote No Country for Old Men) and must say it is simply but powerfully written. Difficult to put down.

I just finished re-reading Katherine Neville's The Eight and the sequel, The Fire. A mixture of chess, history, and suspense.

For the less brainy but action-filled read, I also recently finished Matthew Reilly's The Four Legendary Kingdoms. Reilly's books are pure action and fluff, but I love them.

I finished The Good Earth trilogy! :D They were wonderful. I don't know why I put off reading them for so long. [icon_lol2.gif]

Looks interesting and less than half that price as an E-book for KOBO.

Yup! I went the library route for this one though :) I use (and abuse?) Suggestion for Purchase on a regular basis.

I get weekly e-mails fro BookBub which includes some free books as well as reasonably priced ones.
So far I have only paid for 1 or 2 and mostly read the free ones. There have been a couple of duds but for the most part they have been good.

I just finished: The Light of the Fireflies by Paul Pen Wow. This is one of those creepy but not scary books that sticks in your mind for a long time after you read it. :)

NOW I'm reading: Escape from Camp 14: One Man's Remarkable Odyssey from North Korea to Freedom in the West by Blaine Harden

Incredible book.

Has anyone read the novel that AMC's The Terror is based on? I think the book is also called The Terror but I'm not sure.
