Carrie Fisher has died

Post by Glacier »

RIP. It's going to be a tough job making the next Star Wars movie.

No Han Solo & now no Princess Leia, wondering George will use CG if Leia is needed. As was done with Oliver Reed in Gladiator.

My condolences to Carrie's Family & Friends, may the force be with you as you rest in peace.

As WW3 develops, no one is going to be dissing the "preppers." What have you done?

That is too bad. Why are people dying so young now?

Or are we just getting older so that 60 seems so young? Whenever I see people who are 50-55 in the obits I ask the same question.

Was Carrie Fisher thought to have had a drug use problem?

... was also an accomplished author who detailed her experiences with addiction and mental illness in several bestselling books.

I did not know that.

She also wrote "Surrender the Pink." Don't ask, I haven't read it.

She admitted to abusing prescription drugs as well as alcohol. Lots of people claim she was a coke addict as well but I don't know if she ever commented.

She abused alcohol and drugs for sure, but also smoked extremely heavily. Anyone need proof of that compare her voice in this Star Wars holiday special in 1978 to her voice in the recent "The Force Awakens".

^^^ I suspect it was self medicating, due to mental health issues.

I know she was suffering from alcoholism.

If somebody has a drinking problem or problems with drugs abuse, dying young is sorta given.

Except for Keith Richards. That guy will live forever.

I'm sad she's gone. She has a legacy in Star Wars though.

QK - don't get all bent out of shape but so many celebrities have abused drugs and alcohol that I believe that 2016 may just be the year that payment comes due. We have so many celebrities now - so many have abused - that I believe that 2016 is only the beginning.
I haven't failed until I quit.
