How much $$ should people spend on a camera?

During Target's fire sale I got an awesome deal on the Samsung Galaxy Camera 2.

I'm an avid Android user when it comes to phones, so having what is virtually a Samsung Galaxy with 21x optical zoom sold me. You can also download basically any app from the Google Play store and edit/upload your pics right from the phone to a photo share site or social media.

Whenever I'm usin it I get all kinds of comments from people wondering what it is and how it takes such great pics.

I have a DSLR that basically collects dust now.

So I paid $500 for a mirrorless Canon EOS M1 camera. I think this was a very hard choice..... but the price - I
think the price is worth it.

I know people will be saying "What was he thinking? Why didn't he pay a bit more and get something good? Why didn't he get a Nikon DSLR? Why did he buy that? And the answer is - there is no answer. If, later, I want a better camera I'll go and buy one.

Good job. If that's what works for you right now, then that's what you 'should' get. Upgrades take place once you have exhausted its capabilities. You won't upgrade until what you have is holding you back.

Also, do a little research on lens adapters. You just might find an adapter that allows you to use those old lenses.

Canon EOS M10

Compared to my old camera, which took blurry pictures all the time, this camera is amazing.
Takes good pictures. I'm glad I bought it. Will post some pictures later.

The other thing I was worried about - that it would be cheaply made out of cheap plastic. It probably
won't last thirty years. It probably shouldn't be banged around. But it's not bad for the price.

The main reason I bought a mirrorless camera is because it is small.

Just out of curiosity, do you have a Think Tank camera bag?
